Ang actually in the beginning, thought Big Sky teams would join the Sun Belt first as associates and then break off.

I very much doubt that waivers are available to schools with $25M athletic budgets who can't make a very credible claim of religious discrimination.

And Idaho has said they can't make a go in FBS unless they have a regional conference. When they get one, Emmert not going to punish them by keeping them down.

The Idaho St president offered his resignation at a convenient time. There is already credible blame layer at the feet of the prez and AD there. It will only get worse.

One down one to go, hopefully AD is right behind. They still have more FCS titles than UND.

RE: So who goes to the Summit?
So got an incredible pushback reaction for saying IPFW is a short timer for the Summit, but now the soon to be PUFW leader is saying the same thing. He prefers DI but wants and needs a new conference. When is the "Summit League is staying the same now in spite of losing 30 odd schools in 30 years" crowd going to come to their senses? It's as if they aren't capable of simple logic and reasoning.

You are too funny. Very few, if any pushed back to the idea that IPFW would like to leave the Summit, especially after IUPUI announced they are leaving. IPFW would take a Horizon invite in a heartbeat.

But that is NOT what you get pushback for.

Ultimately I think the Missouri Valley holds all the cards - if they're content st ten, nothing happens to the OVC, Horizon, or Summit. I guess we'll find out if Murray State to the MVC is still a thing by the spring.

Think it will be this fall because Murray St needs to do something with football and spring would be late for scheduling. Also, the Horizon will expand regardless of what the MVC does IMHO.

There are strong D2 schools in the large tv markets that looks better than IUPUFW. Indianapolis, Bellarmine and Lindenwood

The Horizon has never taken a DII team and that won't change unless they loose a lot of members.

I haven't seen any desire to move up from UIndy.

Bellarmine and Lindenwood will move up eventually, but it's more a matter of timing. I could see the OVC taking one of them simply because North Alabama is already under contract to the Atlantic Sun (and Big South) for their Division I transition. Bellarmine's invitation would likely be contingent on adding football.

Have been assured numerous times by several XDSU posters that all the remaining Summit teams are very happy there.

Such delusions are still rampant.

He sounds a lot like the UND President when he suggested the BSC was not an option. Smart man. IPFW belong in a regional league. And by the way, no one pushed back on IPFW leaving, they push back on your idiotic idea that around every corner is another conspiracy which is going to move UND to the big time.

As for "logic and reasoning". Coming from you... that's about as funny as it gets.

Sounds like they are not long for the WAC. I would think they go D3 or head to the Summit, I have a hard time seeing them drop athletics all together. Much like our friends in northern ND, you know who you are, the western travel is killing UMKC.
