I had forgotten about the proposed "Shepherd Center" by realtor Everette Shepherd. Proposed site was to be near the Daniel Building if my recollection is right. That would have been a game changer for Birmingham

In 1972 I received my MA in Education from the hand of Dr Joseph Volker in a ceremony at Boutwell Auditorium. Neither of the two buildings (Tidwell Hall and Cudworth Hall) that made up the UAB campus at that time were large enough for that activity.
