Looks like he has a pretty nice combo of speed & vision. He'll add weight. Nice pickup!

Go Tigers!

Very nice! Looks like he might impact as much or more as a kick returner as he does a running back!

I'd agree with your assessment. 10 touchdowns is a lot for 400 yards rushing, unless he's a big goal line stud fullback. Which he's not.
And it's satisfying knowing that central Florida offered him.
Welcome, Cameron!

This is the THIRD player on our roster from DFW area powerhouse, CEDAR HILL high school. The others are Marcus Green who originally signed with OKLAHOMA who was a member of 2013 Cedar Hill team that won the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 5A Division I state title in Texas. The third player is Christian Slaughter. Cedar Hill went 11-3 last year and ended the season ranked #5 in the state and #44 in the USA. The teams you see in his highlight video are VERY good high school football teams. This is a good quality get for us.

Very nice to see a short track record of success established at such a high level program.

I don't know how we will do it, but we gotta keep Norvell and staff together at Memphis. I firmly believe that they can build us into a Boise St - level national power, which is our only real way to ever hope to break into the cartel. We will need some deep pocket supporters to understand what that would mean for the University and the City. Even deep-pocketed basketball-only / -primary supporters need to embrace the fact that football is what could ultimately lead basketball to the P4/P5 land of $$$.

RE: RB Cameron Fleming *** Commitment to Memphis
Just got an email from a friend of mine who is a CEDAR HILL fan. Said he has seen Cameron play and he is very good and one of a tandem of backs that were on that team. That is the reason he had so few total yards. Probably, had he been the only quality back on another team....he would have had a lot more carries and yards. CEDAR HILL is pretty much loaded with good players....28 signed with colleges in 2016. Their QB signed with NOTRE DAME. Here is part of the story from the DALLAS MORNING NEWS.

"Cedar Hill lost its head coach in mid-December, when Joey McGuire left to join the coaching staff at Baylor. Cedar Hill didn't name its new coach -- Carlos Lynn -- until Jan. 23. But a team that won state championships in 2006, 2013 and 2014 produced the largest class of college football signees in school history Wednesday. And it wasn't even close. Cedar Hill, which went 11-3 and lost to eventual state champion DeSoto in the Class 6A Division II Region I final, had 28 players sign. That tied DeSoto for the largest football signing class in the area."

RE: RB Cameron Fleming *** Commitment to Memphis
One comment on recruiting. About 4 or 5 years ago, my granddaughter was a cheerleader at MARTIN HIGH SCHOOL in Arlington, TX. She had a lot of friends on the football team. One of these players dated one of her best friends, so they knew each other very well. My granddaughter knew of another player at MARTIN who had a few offers but was still looking to sign with a good school. She mentioned MEMPHIS to him and he actually had some great interest in the program. So, she got me a DVD of him playing and I sent it to the coach at Memphis in charge of recruiting Texas. For weeks, I tried to find out what was going on but....no one from Memphis ever called. He ended up signing with NORTH TEXAS to which several fans on here said.....he must have not been that good if he signed with NORTH TEXAS. Well, his brother, who was two years behind him...signed with PURDUE and that other football player who my granddaughter was friends with was Myles Garrett, who signed with TEXAS A&M and was the #1 pick in the recent NFL draft. My point....sometimes just getting in with the coaches at a school with a strong football program pays benefits. A few years later I ran into the family of the player who was interested in MEMPHIS.... they were not very friendly and frankly, I don't blame them. There was no excuse for not even making a phone call to the MARTIN coach or player and the connection to MARTIN another local football powerhouse in the DFW area was lost due to inaction on the part of Larry Porter's staff. Sorry to bring this up but....these connections with certain coaches and schools can pay big dividends. At least our current staff "gets it".

Odds are against keeping him if we do what we want to do this year. But I always like to refer back to Patterson at TCU.

Heck, a 12-1 season leading to a Access bowl slot might be just the kind of situation Norvell likes.
