Missing about 5 of our commits and we have a transfer from Ball State and one from Boise.

Christian Howard

Howard is coming this year as a late add.

Way too early is absolutely correct here.

Apparently one star and no star athletes count against you now, where a 2 star at 70.00 is neutral, or zero points. Obviously, some of these guys, if not most of them will be reevaluated. I think the one-star system is being added to try and get a real understanding of where lesser talented athletes fall on the spectrum and to be able to rate FCS programs more accurately in terms of the talent.

Nice add. You guys are always strong on the lines and it's a big reason you guys keep winning. Interesting though that he went to three different JUCO's, signed with Colorado State, and is now at Arkansas State. Will be interesting to see how that pans out.

On a side note, have you guys seen what Ohio State is doing? They will give Alabama a run for their money soon. Look at their individual position rankings. This is just ridiculous.

He will be a blueshirt so the exposure time for risk is pretty limited. He will be here very soon and either work out or not.

Just in case some don't know this, transfers from four-year schools aren't added in recruiting rankings.

Really like Courtney McKinney for App. At 6-2 200 lbs he could easily bulk up to 220 or 230 to provide that bruising back App hasn't had. He has an offer from South Carolina though so we will see if App can hold on.

I don't think you need to worry about South Carolina. We've already got one back commited and probably another 4-5 before we would look to him. I think it's one of the offers with a catch (if all these other guys don't commit then we will give it to you).

With GS moving from scout back to 24/7 hopefully our 24/7 and recruits stay more updated this year...If we end up in the 100's+ again this CTS cant recruit and is going to kill us especially on D. This year the bulk of Fritz two classes will be hitting the field. I do not give credit to CTS for the 2016 class other than keeping it together and adding one or two kids, it was pretty much loaded by Fritz.

The defensive recruiting is all on CTS and Zo as the scheme remains the same. I expect their recruits from last season and the late additions the year prior to produce (if not then they have failed). As for the OL, this part could get tricky. Personally I expect one immediate starter and a few true frosh in this class with the new offense in place.

We know this but just in case some don't know, those players play football and have the same impact. It is one reason recruiting rankings are more useless than they ever were.

But do we know why recruiting services don't include them? The answer is that they have little to no video they can use to rank those players again since most did not see significant action at their previous school. Using their rankings from high school or JUCO would rarely ever be accurate since they probably weren't ranked correctly to begin with or they would have played more (at least those coming from P5 schools).
Case in point, LB/S Shawn Jennings is transferring to South Alabama from Alabama. He was a pretty high three-star player coming out of high school but redshirted his only year at UA. Thanks to being an early enrollee, he's has two springs and a fall at Alabama, so he's likely a better player now than in high school, but how good is anyone's guess. Maybe he was accurately rated in high school but can't break through Alabama's depth or maybe he was overrated originally but now may have improved enough to be worthy. It's impossible to know.
I know it's frustrating to not have these players included in recruiting classes, but the difficulty in judging them and the wide variations in how much experience they have and eligibility remaining makes leaving them out of class rankings the right move, in my opinion.
Sorry if my initial response seemed like I was talking down to you. That wasn't my intent. There are some folks that request transfers be added to commit lists all the time without realizing that they aren't there for a reason. That's who I was talking to.
I'll see about adding Ark St's commitments to the 247 list, but I'm surprised the Scout lists aren't already being used to update them.

That list is either outdated or wrong. They have us with 4 committments and as of today we have 11. I realize it is tough keeping up with everybody and kids committ somewhere every day. This list was done about a month ago. Will they update this from time to time?

We had none as of Wednesday then, last night they had us at 6, now we're at 4. We have 9; all since Weds.
