I'm glad you can predict the future. Got any plans for Vegas soon? I'm kidding but no one believed Bron was going back to Cleveland after his fallout with fans and the owner either. If he goes elsewhere after this season then it won't be a big surprise but it won't be a surprise to me either if he stays. He's from there (Northeast Ohio) and it has a special place in his heart.

No problem. I also agree with everything you stated. But if LBJ wanted to attract better talent to play with in CLE then the stability demonstrated by him signing a 3-4 year deal would help.

While his one year deals certainly give him leverage over Dan Gilbert, it doesn't help other players fear of being stuck on the Cavs without him there.

If James stays in Cleveland then IMO he is resigned to not winning any more rings

I do understand that perspective van. Here's my take. LeBron is still considered the best player in the world and he has options after next year and he WON'T be boxed in or constrained by anyone. He wasn't when he left Cleveland the first time, he wasn't when he left Miami and he won't moving forward after this year. Other players know this as well. IMHO that's what he's earned in that role as King. He is the primary face of the NBA right now and he has power and influence. Some folks don't like that but it's fact.

I don't look at him not signing a long term deal now because he is holding Cleveland hostage or is intent on leaving. Part of it was him wanting to know if the front office could recover after GM Griffin was let go and show that they were going to do everything possible to stay competitive and sign players. They did just that. I would argue they will be a better team without Kyrie because the ball will be spread around more to score and they are a deeper team now. They have a second line of players that they didn't have last year. No doubt the Cavs are favored in the east to get back to the finals again. And before everyone pencils in Golden State as repeat customers, other teams in the west improved and it will be a tougher road for them I believe. Cleveland is still in the top of the league AS LONG AS LeBron is on the team and he knows this.

So to bring this full circle, he will survey the landscape when the season ends (probably before the season ends) to determine where can he go to compete for a championship RIGHT NOW. He isn't going to go somewhere in a team rebuild mode. There remains a good core of players under contract with Cleveland after this season (Love, Thompson, Smith, Crowder, Korver) and he is one of the best lobbyists for other players to join him. Not sure what players may be available via trade or free agency after the upcoming season but Cleveland has options to remain a top tier team as well, and in particular, with the potential lottery pick they received in the trade with Boston. Heck, they could make a trade DURING the season. Bron has a good thing going in Cleveland right now so that will be the test for him as he looks around at other teams IMHO. All I'm saying is folks should not be so quick to pencil in that he's leaving Cleveland when the season ends.

We'll obviously have to see what happens after this season. IMO the Cavs just don't have anyone that can fraud KD. That is the basis for my opinion. Maybe there is an in season trade to can solve that problem.

There isn't a worthwhile trade the Cavs can make now or during the season unless they are willing to include that Brooklyn #1 in the trade, and who is possibly available who would really be worth that #1? LaMarcus Aldridge? You'd have to live with his aggravating inconsistency on offense. Boogie Cousins? He could blow up the team chemistry and he won't play good D on Durant.

Yeah.... that was nasty.... almost like that college kid from a few years ago with the blown out leg.

Watched the game on TV and I swear you could hear his leg break when he hit the floor. It happened so fast but the announcer said "he's broken his leg, he's broken his leg." Then the camera showed him sitting up and I just gasped like everyone else. It was a class move by LeBron and a few other players that went over to him before he was carted off the floor.

Feel horrible for the guy. Prayers for a full recovery and return to basketball next year.

That is kind of cool about the court. But I could believe Kyrie's concerns about the paint curing.

The retro paint job was a nice touch, and nobody got hurt, so it's all good. The reason the floor probably felt different to Kyrie isn't the paint job. It's that the Bucks got an old basketball hardwood and had it painted and installed in the arena just for tonight's game, rather than painting over the floor that UW-Milwaukee uses in the arena.

The Lakers of all teams ended the Rockets 14-game winning streak. You gotta come to play every night in the NBA.
