I'd say Adam DiMichele telling me an announcement was coming before it was counts for something, but okay.

Temple and USF need to build State of the art 50000 person stadiums on campus. USF could have an awesome stadium with tons of luxury seating to sell to people in the Tampa area same goes for Temple.

RE: Temple Football Recruiting
I searched the Rivals database for 2018 recruits who have been offered by any P5 school. Here are the totals from that list who have committed to American schools:

SMU = 8 (of 15 total commits)
Houston = 8 of 18
Cincy = 5 of 8
Memphis = 5 of 8
Temple = 5 of 13
USF = 3 of 5
ECU = 3 of 15
UConn = 2 of 5
UCF = 2 of 7
Navy = 2 of 22
Tulane = 1 of 3
Tulsa = 0 of 3

Conference is off to a good start. I'm guessing half the league signs 10+ with at least one P5 offer.

RE: Temple Football Recruiting
At Texas, Charlie Strong didn't get a lot of early commits. He did very well in January, however.

He seems to be following the same pattern at USF re: limited early commits.

I wonder what effect the early signing period will have for coaches who have historically waited to fill a bunch of spots in January.

I agree with this especially for USF if they want to be considered for P5 inclusion in the next round of alignment. UCF with their own OCS appears to be in better shape for a look at a Florida school rather than a school who only rents space in the Tampa Buc's Stadium. I believe UCF would only have to add around 5,000 seats to get to 50k to look good to P5 conferences looking to expand. I know the Buc's stadium is a nice venue, convenient, and cheap for USF at this point but staying there will not help their case for potential P5 inclusion down the road. P5 conferences want to see university investment in the sports facilities on campus or as close the campus as possible on property they own (my opinion).

As for Temple I don't think they can get a 50k stadium on the land designated where they currently intent to build their OCS. That's one of the reason's they are only going 30k "IF" and when they build their new stadium. Besides there is not enough parking space near that building lot space for 30k let alone 50k attending a game at that location. Parking is probably one of the hold ups on their new stadium besides student, neighborhood, and political dissention. Plus if they are waiting for 15 - 18k season pass holders to sign up before building it as a Temple Alum / Fan stated above, then they are staying at the LINC for a very long time, especially with this current administration. The ball has been dropped since the last president was forced out and now you don't hear a thing about anything being done on the stadium project. I really hope Temple can complete the 30K OCS soon though, as the renderings shown on line look very nice and I think the Eagles owner (Laurie) is really sticking it to them with current negotiations to try and drive the Owls out of the LINC where he never wanted them in the first place. I think he still has a bad taste in his mouth after Rendell, and the State and Local governments forced the Temple rental issue on him when the LINC was build with city, state, and federal funds. He never wanted Temple in the stadium with the Eagles to begin with. 07-coffee3 04-cheers

Who is Adam DiMichele, what is the soon to be heard announcement, and when is the announcement going to happen. Is he the new university president. Is the stadium going to be built and when. That's what we would like to know. At least give us a real live progress report that shows that something positive is being done. 04-jawdrop 07-coffee3 04-cheers

lol he's a former Temple QB who is Temple's director of quality control for offense and recruiting. He was previously the director of player development.

No idea the timeframe on a new president here. I'm not sure of an exact timeframe for a stadium announcement, but it seems like there's some momentum. Hopefully something is announced in the next year.

There is zero demand or urgency for tickets. Everyone knows they can show up day of game and get basically whatever seat they want for most games.

UCF had similar problems at the citrus bowl. Just by moving on campus we increased attendance dramatically, primarily with the sale of season tickets. If Temple is waiting to get 18K season ticket holders its never going to happen.
Temple needs 18K season ticket holders to build the donation pyramid. If 18K can't commit to seeing Temple play every week fro 6 weeks regardless of how many seats are available, they will never be able to build a stadium.

It is not about ticket demand and availability, it is about having a fervent fan base. We ain't there yet. No where near it.
