ZBo most likely gone IMO

J. Green will probably be a little pricey to re-sign so we'll see.

RE: NBA Draft
As soon as they announced we traded a future 2nd for a 2nd round pick tonight, it signaled to me that the grizz were trying to create some kind of buzz because they know they have some players leaving.

If zbo, ta and vince leave and even if jam stays and we make no other real moves, i can see the grizz failing to make the playoffs.

Former McDs AA. Versatile big. Can switch picks. Solid rebounder. Offensive potential. Great hands. Well-spoken.

There's enough there. But I'll wait and see...

RE: NBA Draft
Don't know much about Rabb, but Orlando had 4 picks this year, so this made sense for them.

At least we did something. I'm not sure this signals anything about where we are heading with the veterans. It's not like Rabb is going to step in and start, he's a second rounder, how many second rounders have the Grizz picked that were productive players?

Okay, I just looked it up ... Matt Barnes, he's the only one.

Grizz also apparently trading for Dillon Brooks. He shot 40% from 3 last year so there's that.

Yeah we have a crap ton of big men though. At a minimum I would think Wright is gone, maybe Martin too? Could be more.

Solid player...could very well be this year's Brogdon. He was an All American past 2 seasons and Pac 12 player of the year this past season.

I did see Brooks a few times, I liked what I saw as a college player at least.

Will be interesting to see what the opening day roster looks like, thatfosure.

Surprised Motley didn't get picked, he'd be a guy I'd want in camp as an undrafted guy.

I can already see Dillon Brooks getting traded by Chris Wallace then averaging 18 a game in Minnesota.

USA Today gave both of our picks an A-

Rabb was a projected lottery pick after his freshman season

RE: NBA Draft
California Golden Bears fans who also double as Golden State Warriors will probably flinch at this news: Ivan Rabb was very close to joining LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the Eastern Conference champions.

Cavs thought they had deal for 34th from Kings to draft Cal's Ivan Rabb, source said but it stalled at deadline.Terms were already agreed to

Marc Spears of ESPN reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers came very close to landing Rabb on draft night, and that a deal was in place with the Sacramento Kings to trade into the 34th spot and pick Rabb. However, the deal fell apart, and the Memphis Grizzlies swooped in and drafted Rabb at 35.

So there will likely be no conflicted souls come NBA Finals time, if there’s a fourth matchup between Warriors and Cavaliers. That conflict would probably come earlier in a 1-8 matchup. Then again, I guess most Cal/Warriors fans probably get over Allen Crabbe being on the Blazers, so you’d guess it’d be easy to push feelings aside when it comes to these matters.

Cal fans, do you prefer the theoretical fit of Rabb in Cleveland, or the actual fit of Rabb in Memphis? Let us know in the comments!

RE: NBA Draft
Think the Grizz did a pretty good job. Key is didn't give up much. Two future 2nd round picks.

Perhaps would have preferred Ojeleye or Jordan Bell from Oregon, but splitting hairs. Love early 2nd round picks, we need cheap production for a few years with our 3 max players. Maybe we will hit big on one of them like Draymond or Brogdon.

DraftExpress.com has these great video scouting reports. Watch 7 minutes of Dillon Brooks' strengths and you think we have a steal. Then watch 7 minutes of Brooks' weaknesses, and you hate the pick.

RE: NBA Draft
To wrap up the Grizz trade with Cleveland that gave up our first round pick 4 years ago, that pick ended up being the 20th pick in the 1st round last night.

Sac took Harry Giles from Duke with the 20th pick. Giles only averaged 4 & 4 for Duke as a Freshman, and has had two major leg injuries.

We get Rabb at 35 after we trade one of our 2019 second rounders.

DraftExpress had Giles 26 and Rabb 31 in their pre-draft ranking. Seems like we really didn't end up doing too badly.

Grizz stocking up team Hustle for the G-League:

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏Verified account @WojVerticalNBA 5m5 minutes ago

.

6' 4" PG from Arizona. Declared after Freshman year only to not get drafted. Was a sleeper prospect on some boards.

I will say Giles looked like the second coming of Chris Webber prior to his injury. He could end up being a steal at 20 or a total bust. Time will tell.

RE: NBA Draft
I'm glad we stayed away from Giles. Giles would have been a typical Wallace pick, top 5 high school player, Duke signee. Great skills, but I wonder if he will ever be healthy for an 82-game NBA schedule.

But Giles had torn both of his ACL's by age 18, and then had knee surgery again last year at Duke.

Rabb isn't injury free, had a bad sprained ankle that limited his draft workouts, which probably helped cause him to fall to us at 35. But not serious injuries like Giles.

The last kid SAC took who disappointed in college looks like he will have a promising career...

If they hadn't paid Chandler Parson's and his uncle's knees $94 mil, they could've thrown their weight around this summer.
