Aren't those two years the times when the AAC got 4 teams in the tourney? That could bode well for this year.

Sorry, I didn't mean to slight Louisville. They got up to #5 at the end of the 2014 season.

Yes, in 2014 the AAC got four in and SMU was the first team out. In 2016 the AAC got four in and SMU would've been the fifth but for some reason we couldn't play with everyone else.....

Slight them all you want. They vacated that season anyway.

Wichita is the new basketball face of this conference. The in conference name to beat - the national name that people will tune in to watch.

I don't think you can rule out UCF either ... or even UCONN. Both have the talent to get there.

Temple could be your sleeper this year.

I put "POTENTIAL" when I meant "EXPECTED".

We could put 6 or 7 teams in. The strength at the top will give credibility to those finishing 4/5/6 and even possibly 7 if they perform well in OOC and pick up some key wins.

That's the key, people need to collect quality wins OOC then the conference wins become quality wins and the losses don't hurt.

You right... but what if a conference member runs the table on their lousy weak ooc and than defeats one of our big horses like Wichita State Cincinnati UConn Memphis Temple or Houston UCF Tulsa SMU?!? I think is a goal crusher for many of us, IMO.

That's called getting Evansvilled. Translated for this conference it would be Pirated.

Used in a sentence: Oh lol... sorry bro, your RPI just got PIRATED! 01-swc

The four most forgettable ship games in 20 years. Still 4 ships but damn, everyone forgets that they were good once. WSU is the one everybody will be talking about.

They are still one of the top 5 programs over the course of the last 20 or so years. It's hard to recover right away from losing a HoF coach AND being left behind. UConn doesn't have an identity at this point. They were one of the best programs in the Big East.

Now they are struggling. I 100% believe had they not had 1/3 of their team (Some would suggest several of their top players and I agree) they would have been easily a top 3 team in the AAC and in the NCAA Tourney.

Wichita State is my favorite to win the AAC this season but I don't expect that every season. I don't even expect Wichita State to be in the top 3 every season. It'll shuffle.

There are too many quality programs.

This is a fair statement. I would expect the Shox to possibly dip a little after next year because of player turn over and probable players going early to the NBA (if our players don't leave early-no dip), but while Gregg is here, I don't see extended dips at all and expect us to be competitive for the Championship most every year. Most extended dips happen after a coaching change or turnover but these personnel changes don't always result in an extended dip.

I agree, Coach Marshall has a system and gets his players to buy into it. If Memphis and UConn get back to form I expect this conference to truly be 6-7 deep every single season.

I remember a year in C-USA maybe is was 2004 that 6 teams tied for 1st. It was crazy. All 6 teams did get into the NCAA Tourney, although the seeding was crap.

If the AAC can get to a level like that then 1-4 or even 1-6 could be within a game or 2 of the regular season ship with some tie breakers deciding outcomes at times.

Glad to have you here, hopefully Memphis and UConn can get things figured out and others can rise to the occasion.
