Just means Norvell would leave earlier than expected and a single bad hire could send it back to where it was before.
Good lord man...I'm more of a miserable/realist than a sunshine guy...but this takes being a miserable to new depths. We go undefeated in football and your only concern is the coach leaving and possibly making a bad hire?
I might as well go swallow a bottle of sleeping pills.
Agreed.
While the negative around bball may be warranted (yet still debatable), this is a new low.
I'm not sure this is the best place for him to be expressing his feelings. Maybe a doctor or something, seriously, I'll feel bad if does something to himself and I didn't at least speak up.

As always, a breath of fresh air. I mean d@mn, do you ever post anything positive? Is your life as miserable as your posts indicate?

Boise went through a few coaches and just kept building. TCU did it with one guy - Patterson. He had plenty of offers, but he kept building and drug the school into the P5.
I still think either can work here. Norvell could be our Patterson. Or he could be Fuente. Either way, our chances of making good hires just continue to increase the more we win.

Hmm...except undefeated these days would mean at least discussion for the playoff and almost certain invitation to a bowl that Tulane never could have sniffed back then. They played in the Liberty Bowl.
Yep...
It would depend on UCLA being good...
Playoff would depend on UCLA, Houston, USF, Navy, etc.
G5 access slot is less on the SOS and more on running the table. If the AAC champ comes out 13-0, regardless of SOS, the school will get the G5 bowl slot.

A non P5 school would have to start the season in top 10 in order to get considered even if they go undefeated. P5 champions with 1 or maybe even 2 losses would get picked ahead of a non P5 school unless they were in top 2 in the polls.
If we are undefeated and beat an undefeated UCLA team, we will have everyone's attention.
1998 Tulane went 12-0 and not only did they not play in the NC game they were not even invited to any of the BCS bowls. While a 2 loss Florida got a BCS bid.
With the current system it is even harder to make it as we saw when the Big XII had two teams in top 4 going into their head to head match up and neither made the playoffs.

Tulane
1998 12-0
1999 3-8
2000 6-5
2001 3-8
Scelfo had a record of 37-57 following Bowden and the program went right back to the bottom half of CUSA
