That would play into what I've said the last few years. The winner of the next world war will be the one that develops technology that can knock out the GPS and screw up the others electronics.

Or the Chinese...or the N Koreans...or Islamic nut jobs in the Phillipines using stuff provided by Iran/Korea/Russians/Chinese. lol...we have a ton of enemies around there. i still think its probably a lack of attentiveness or incompetence----but that vessel track really raises some questions.

That is why It's funny about all of this Russian hacking....

At this point you have to believe every country is trying to be the best in the world in this. If you are smart enough to get into the systems...

you are smart enough to not let it be traced back to you. If you are getting caught it's because they want to be. I know it sounds silly that someone might want to get caught but the reason is they want us to believe they are that dumb.

Anyone that doesn't believe the USA has their smartest people working on getting into any system in the world...

is foolish

Just as everyone you listed.

I watched that and while I'm not well informed on this subject that was strange.

Yeah, Im not a big conspiracy guy, but we ALL thought this was hard to explain from the very beginning---so, I can kinda see there maybe being something to this.

That said, whats the point of using something this effective when there isnt much to gain? Seems like it would be better to save that trick for when you really need it. If it was just a test---why the need to ram the ship?

More questions than answers on this one.

RE: Navy destroyer collides with cargo ship off coast of Japan
I saw something yesterday saying that the accident actually occurred about an hour earlier than previously reported. The collision occurred and caused the slight veer to the right that shows up at the collision site on the initial track. The merchant ship steamed away, continuing along its initial track for several miles, then made the U-turn and came back to the collision site. In this account, it did not report the collision until it returned to the scene an hour later.

That is a strange sequence of events, and would ask some additional questions. It does not really suggest sabotage.

Regardless of any electronic interference, the destroyer had plenty of ways to avoid collision. You don't use GPS to avoid collision. You do use radar but if it fails you have eyeballs. One other point, in case of any major electronics failure, the captain would have been called to the bridge immediately, instead of being in his sea cabin.

I'm still calling this lack of proper seamanship and professionalism by the Navy crew.

This thing is FUBAR from top to bottom.

No way our officers and captains are this incompetent, least one would hope not, something really screwy here.

Call me "skeptical ", call me a conspiracist, I'm not buying this Whoooops!!! Excuse for one second.

We'll see if this just gets swept under the rug like our TWO boats run off course and are boarded/seized by freaking Iran.

Who was ever courtmartialed or demoted and discharged for that?

Unfortunately, yes way. Do agree on the FUBAR part.

We are wasting billions on POSs like the Fords and Zumwalts and LCSs, and cutting maintenance and training to make the budgets work. This is what happens as a result.

The only Officers on the Fitzgerald that will survive the Board of Inquiry with their careers intact will be the Chief Engineer/Damage Control Officer and the Damage Control Assistant.
