They did whatever was necessary to make it happen. UC was too high-brow, or too stupid, to get it done. At least we can rest easy that our program is squeaky clean just like Mount Union or Wilmington. Now there is good news when it comes to basketball - we can play for that coveted 6th seed.
Eventually things will catch up to those who are classless.

Haven't seen that attach itself to Cal or Pitino in any meaningful way yet! Last I checked, that UL 2013 championship banner is still hanging....
Cal had a couple of titles vacated, but all that happened to him was to land one of the premiere jobs in all of NCAA DI Ball.
List for me a program with multiple national championships devoid of scandal....you can't do it because it does not exist.
That should tell you something.
Do tell. Please do tell about all the info your sanctimonious azz has on every national championship winner and the list of their infractions. I will patiently await your response. Cal has had 2 final fours vacated you freaking moron. Do some research before you post your nonsense. Last you checked? That banner is coming down after the appeal, of course it is not down now. I nominate you for the most incredibly dumbest piece of BS ever posted on here.
You really want to go there? Hmmm.. Multiple national championship winners in DI MBB with infractions:
UK
UL
Duke
NC
KU
UConn
UCLA
IU
UC
Florida
NC State
Villanova
Every damn one of them has a scandal on their books....google it...it's pretty easy. What a 'tard...
Should I even start with FB??? The scandals there are legion...let's take a few multiple national championship winners off the top:
OSU
FSU
Florida
Oklahoma
Alabama
Miami
USC
Notre Dame
Nebraska
Penn State
Do I really need to go on here? It's getting ridiculous. My claim obviously holds water.
I'll believe that UL banner is coming down when it comes down, not before. UL is appealing...UL is in the ACC. Let's wait and see.
BTW...I think you'll find that Cal is now at the forefront of DI MBB as coach of UK, making deep runs annually. Please indicate to me the damage that has done to his career aspirations...I don't see any. Do you?
Here's an article on the topic:

Will Mick or Mac replace him?????
They are not firing Pitino. Seriously.
I have said this elsewhere, but UL fans LOVE this type of thing. In their own minds, they exult over being the "bad boy" program of the NCAA and I think it makes them feel like success when their coaches and/or players are involved in scandals. (As in "If you're not cheating, you're not trying hard enough." Therefore, this is proof positive of their coaches doing a bang-up (poor choice of metaphor??? I think not!) job.)
And when Pitino does eventually retire, I would be willing to bet they are not going to poach Mick. Why? Because (a) they consider UC "below" their stature and so they're more likely to go somewhere else, and (b) because Mick runs a clean program and they, as I said elsewhere, don't want a "clean" program. The last time they brought in a "clean" guy to clean up a major program was when they replaced Bobby Petrino with Steve Kragthorpe... Then they got really mad when Krags (who was an incompetent boob, FWIW) ran off all Bobby P's "talent." They won't go that route again.
I agree too.

Whom they get may be dictated by how much they can realistically spend at that point. First stop, figure out how to pay for the Yum$ Center.

Paying for the Yum Center is not the University's problem. The City of Louisville (and the County, I think) signed a bad deal in financing that.

Are you asking whether there is a problem buying hookers for 16-17 year old recruits? Moreover, basically putting said recruits in a position where they had to commit there or else?
Imagine the outrage if the UConn Women's Basketball told 16-17 year old recruits to get plowed by gigolos.

what would the "else" be?
i don't think anyone's going to be providing teenage girls with male whores. if our society wasn't so prudish about sex this would be a non issue.
i'll admit, i haven't really cared too much about this, but it's silly for them to receive any punishment really. even unc shouldn't be hassled. it was a great run ncaa, but any semblance of amateurism is for romantics

Even if you ignore the moral side of paying for sex (which even if you're not religious, you can't ignore that it has societal consequences similar to paying for human organs), it's still an impermissible benefit by NCAA rules. And it cost a helluva lot more than Terrelle Pryor's tattoos.

it isn't a question of morality in my opinion, for society certainly. society is a man made phenomena. do you inherently believe that your morality is yours or was it brainwashed into your psyche?

Yeah there would probably be a few muffin head WSU fans that would say something like that, but most would acknowledge Lville as clearly a level above. It would have to be a tempting possibility for Marshall should it ever be offered, and I have no doubt he'd listen. But I suspect he'd have to be hesitant to taint himself with UL's stench. It's our best hope against him ultimately going to UNC, or even possibly UK as well, should those ever come a calling.

Pitino will leave when he decides to retire, or is poached by a bigger program. When that happens, I imagine UL will fish Calipari an offer...if it worked once, it could work again....
