Even in 104 (chairbacks) where we are, I've never heard anyone complain about people standing. Although, it's entirely possible I just ignore people that are yelling at me to sit down.

Or maybe because there's like 12 people in your section most of the time. 04-cheers

Haha that's fair. Although it was nice having Taylor Reynolds' mom around for a lot of the games.

"But through last week, JMU has sold 5,890 season tickets for 2017. Carpenter said JMU is about 600 ahead of where it was last year at this time.

The Dukes ended up selling 6,194 season tickets for the 2016 season, which helped the school finish second in all of FCS for average attendance (19,844 per game) last year."

"Carpenter said games against East Tennessee State (Sept. 9), Maine (Sept. 23) and Richmond (Nov. 11) are the most likely to get sold out this season."

There is no way RU is better attended than Homecoming. It should be close but not better. If RU brought some fans to the game then I could see it, but they bring no more than anyone else in the conference.

6,400 season tickets sold as of last monday, August 14th. We've already passed last year's mark. I think 6,700 was the record set in 2011.

Then maybe they should just remove the benches/seats in those sections.

Unfortunately not all of us are healthy enough to stand all the way through a game.

Easy solution. Don't buy tickets in 109. You should be able to sit in 103, I agree. But not in a section advertised by JMU as a standing fan zone (109).

I don't, I buy in 407 in the upper deck. Much better sight lines and I can sit the entire game except when some rude people in the rows in front of me stand for extended periods of time.

I love the upper deck views too!

Just think you need to differentiate from rude standing people & those who stand in 109. They bought tickets in a section designated to standing!

Yeah, I realize that and I am not talking about the 109 fans.

Yes, that is true so those folks should pick another section. 109 is advertised as a standing room section. Anyone who buys there knows that is the case.

RE: Bourne Dialogue - Season Tickets Trending Up
Not season tickets specifically, but my rough estimate of the number of remaining seats for the home opener is 1k or less. It also looks like every single home game this season has at least medium student ticket availability remaining. That means at least 2700 or so students have picked up tickets for all season long. Student tickets are already sold out for the ETSU game.

Thanks for the update and doing the legwork to do these calculations/estimates. I expect a really good crowd Saturday evening and rightfully so. These guys deserve it.

If tickets are available on gameday and student tickets are sold out, do they give the available tickets to any students that show up without a ticket? I hope so.
