2017-18 basketball schedule updates
The whole schedule won't come out for awhile but we may see some occasional updates here and there. We knew already we're playing in a tournament at Las Vegas (against UNLV in the first game, and either Utah or Ole Miss I think in the second game)?

I also see now we're playing another game at New Mexico next season on December 19th (too bad Egor Koulechov isn't still around - he has a nice history of games at the Pit). They should call the game the Defection Bowl. I think both teams had six players transfer from the program during the off-season.

2017-18 men's basketball schedule
I don't know about UNM, but here at Rice we don't rebuild, we reload.

Let's do this...

Rice women will play at Kansas the Sunday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 26th). That's a good game - decent opponent but one that is winnable too. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kansas here at Tudor the year after that as they'll have a senior from Houston that season. It probably also stands to reason that we'll play another road game that weekend leading up to the Kansas game?

Men play at UTA November 29th. They were 27-9 last year and return their best player. Men's NC schedule is already shaping up to be harder than I'd like to see.

Mid-Major Madness has us playing SFA at some point, assumedly at their place. They should be much improved from last year.

Here's a link to the story:
https://www.midmajormadness.com/2017/7/1...kota-state

Quote:Stephen F. Austin will visit Mississippi State and host North Dakota State next season, a source told Mid-Major Madness.

Those are just two more games in what appears to be a challenging non-conference schedule that Kyle Keller and his staff have devised. Those matchups join already-reported dates at Louisiana Tech (Dec. 6), LSU (Dec. 16), and Missouri (Dec. 19) next season. ...

Mid-Major Madness has also learned that Florida A&M will visit Nacogdoches on Nov. 27, in what should be a welcome cupcake in a tough schedule. ... That can be excused, however, knowing that Louisiana Tech, Rice, North Dakota State, and three Power 5 schools are all on the schedule.

RE: 2017-18 basketball schedule updates
Only FOUR (4) home non-conference games against D1 opponents:

(Last season's final Pomeroy ranking in parentheses)

Eastern Kentucky (272)
Georgia State (131)
UTRGV (300)
Texas State (174)

Undoubtedly, phones are ringing off the hook, with fans ordering season tickets.
