I generally think that a new HC and staff costs a team 1 to 2 games a season. With that being said, there are multiple examples that disprove that theory (Herman, Coker, etc)

What are your predictions for the first year HCs this season?

USF - Charlie Strong: 11-2

Temple - Geoff Collins - 7-5

Houston - Major Applewhite - 9-3

Cincinnati - Luck Fickell - 6-6

UCONN - Randy Edsall - 3-9

Didn't you get then memo from the Cincy fans? Fickell's going 12-0 and Randy Edsall is going 0-12...maybe 1-11. Maybe.

That is a very fair prediction. I personally have UH going 10-2, but could see them winning anywhere from 8 to 12 games this season.

Sometimes losing a HC can be addition by subtraction. Cincy and UConn will both win around 6-7 games this year. I think the AAC is going to be a logjam of teams that are all scrapping between 5-9 wins overall.

The conference is very beautiful in that there is a lot of balance in terms of institutional budgets/revenues. It may never produce a true powerhouse team, but over time the TV product is only going to get better.

I don't think the top programs are going to run away, and USF will drop some games this year.

Given their schedule, I could see Temple going 7-5. Sounds about right.

First year coaches usually take a while to get their pieces in place. Butch Jones was a disaster his first year.

in a year or two CLF will have UC 9-3 or 10-2 range while UCONN is still going 4-8....that's the difference in our programs and head coaches respectively.

9-3 is asking a lot. I'll be surprised if they go 6-6 or better this year.

I think cincy goes 8-4 with better conditioning and better coaching maybe they wont disappear in the second half of games like they did last year
