Well.....

I guess he's entitled to his opinion

However, I will respectfully disagree with Mr. Del Conte and instead offer that Texas A&M's move to the SEC has been a coup for both schools.

Every other program in Texas other than UT would gladly trade places with them, including TCU.

The irony in this is that, that's how TCU got into the Big 12 to begin with. 03-lmfao

Yeah, we'd have TCU in the American right now. That'd be nice for sure. Good thing for ECU that they moved on. They were the last team in.

Sounds like a case of someone who's trying to convince himself that being on a sinking ship is "better" than having moved to a safe island.

The analogy would be a passenger gave up his seat on the Titanic and the guy who took it talking about what a mistake the guy made.

Yeah... No, A&M is making a ton of money and competing in the most prestigious of the college football conferences. On top of that they were able to get away from their big bad brother UT.

I don't buy it, I think it was a great move by the Aggies.

That would be twitter shorthand for tongue, as in "tongue in cheek" - a part of the link I guess nobody read, judging by the comments here.

I guess that depends on whether or not you get to nail Kate Winslet in the backseat of a Pierce Arrow!

FAKE NEWS. Tulsa was the last team in. I think ECU would have been in this conference even with TCU. Tulsa or Tulane would have been left out.

The Big 12 is not really like the Titanic. It's more like North Korea, where Kim Jong Un (who in this case lives in Austin) can wake up one day and decide to blow it all up on a whim. Both are bad, but being on the Titanic means a slow inevitable death, whereas North Korea could conceivably allow you to live but you have no real control over your own destiny unless you're the one in charge (Texas).

I'm pretty sure Tulsa and Tulane were invited all-sports at the same time ECU was invited FB-only. That says to me ECU was last on the list. If there was an earlier announcement I don't remember, please correct me.

RE: TCU AD calls Texas A&M's move to SEC a mistake
This is a complete non story. The statement appears to be sarcastic.

However, if anyone thinks that playing in the Big 12 would provide a better opportunity for success than playing in the SEC, I disagree. While the competition is presumably tougher in the SEC, it also provides A&M with a recruiting advantage that should allow it to attract better talent. When it was in the Big 12, A&M won only one conference championship, so it's not like that conference was great for the program. The superior financial benefits and security of being a member of the SEC go without saying.

If they weren't admitted to B12, they would still be in MW.

What if TCU/BYU both stayed?
