NHL to Seattle?

With Vegas and Seattle, I wonder if Edmonton and Calgary would move to the Central, and Colorado would move to the Pacific, putting them in the same division as Arizona and Vegas.

Hmmm

NHL has been kind of calm on the expansion talk since the Las Vegas deal went down. There is one spot open to make the Eastern and Western Conferences even on teams. Relocation rumors are also not floating around at the moment so... even though I swear the Coyotes and Panthers still have ownership issues.

The NBA, unless they realign, is pretty evened out with 3 5 team divisions per conference at a total of 30 teams. I haven't heard any rumors of franchises relocating. I seriously doubt the NBA adds 2 teams and then realigns to something else with 32 / 16-16 configuration.

Hockey in Seattle, OK I can see it, maybe in a few years time. Basketball however will take center stage and will play probably sooner than later!!!

I think we see both simultaneously as an expansion duo. Seattle SuperSonics and Seattle Kraken (I heard that name somewhere and thought it was hilariously good.) Sonics using their old color scheme while the Kraken could easily embrace the green/blue theme of the Seattle.

I can see either Arizona, Carolina, or Florida losing their NHL team to Quebec. Quebec should have a team, in my opinion and all three of those franchises seem to be struggling. I'd hate for Carolina to lose theirs because my first NHL game was in Raleigh.

I also think having more conferences would not be a bad idea. Treat them more like divisions (but call them conferences because of their size). Top 16 teams, seeded 1-16 make the playoffs. The only guaranteed seed is the conference champion.

Let's say, for arguments sake that Florida loses theirs:

West: Los Angeles, Anaheim, San Jose, Seattle, Las Vegas, Arizona, Colorado, Dallas
Central: Pittsburgh, Columbus, Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota, Nashville, St. Louis, Tampa Bay
East: Carolina, Washington, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York ®, New York (I), Boston
Canada: Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec

Unfortunately for Quebec, I don't see them getting a new team any time soon. The market is too small. But I will agree that Phoenix and Florida need to be re-examined. I personally feel that Atlanta got hosed out of its team by the owners of the Atlanta Hawks. I don't blame anyone but the owners of the Atlanta Hawks for losing the Atlanta Thrashers. The Thrashers were doing fine up until the Atlanta Hawks owners began complaining that they couldn't make any $$'s off of them, which was bullcrap, because they just wanted more $$'s for themselves. I'm kinda surprised they haven't sold the Hawks yet to get a "return" on their investment (a practice whereby a owner or an ownership group buys a team a pretty cheap price to begin with, and then sells to another owner/ownership group for a much higher price. On a side not, I'm surprised Atlanta Spirit hasn't tried to move the Hawks to Los Angeles, since LA is just oozing with $$). Atlanta will have to build a new arena for a new hockey team though as the aforementioned Atlanta Hawks don't want to share their arena.
