OVC also extends their commissioner's contract:

With Murray staying and thus OVC still at 12, does 18 game schedule mean you play 9 of 11 conf opponents H/H or does it mean you play everyone once and 7 of 11 H/H?

And the last conference playing divisions in basketball has stopped following that format. Now we can no longer suggest that in basketball threads.

1 thing that it does is put the MEAC as the only conference that electively chooses to play fewer than 18 games in conference play. There's a few that are at 14 or 16, but that's due to number of teams in conference.

The MAC does but my point still stands that divisions in basketball are not an realistic option for conferences moving forward as yet another conference moves away from that model.

Those divisions were bad for the OVC. Your two runaway flagship programs (Murray/Belmont) only played 1x a year only 2 hours apart!

Murray hated playing Belmont/Morehead/EKU 1x and EIU/SIUE/SEMO 2x. Helped cost them an at-large the one year they finished top 25 (2015).
