64.94 (213' 1") for Austin on his 3rd and final throw. He'll finish at 18th overall, but still another Rice Track and Field All American!

What's the significance of 16th place?

For the Decathlon High Jump, Scott is in Flight 1. There are two high jump aprons, so the two flights will take place simultaneously.

Tonight's TV coverage has been moved from ESPN2 to ESPN (the NCAA Women's Softball Championship had been set for ESPN had the series gone to a 3rd game). It's supposed to begin at 7:30 CDT.

The better high jumpers, Wieland (Minnesota) and Duckworth (Kentucky) have yet to enter.

Bar now at 1.98 (6' 6"). Victor (Texas A&M) has cleared.

Scott misses on his first try.

He missed on his 2nd. One more attempt.

Out at 1.98. I'm sure that he's disappointed. He'll have to make it up on another event.

Scott will be in 6th overall after the high jump, unless T.J. Lawson (Kent State) clears 2.07 meters (6' 9½") or better.

A 3rd attempt clearance by Lawson at 2.07. He'll bump Scott to 7th overall.

Flight 2 is moving more slowly. If Markus Leemet (South Carolina) clears 1.98 (6' 6"), he will pass Scott.

From Flight 2, if Steven Bastien (Michigan) clears 2.01 meters (6' 7"), that will drop Scott into 8th going in to the final event of Day 1, the 400 meters.

Bastien clears 2.01 meters on his 2nd try, dropping Scott into 8th.

I have to go for a run, but I'm sure someone can update the 400 meters for the Parliament.
