Hopefully UNT will be improved enough by then to make this an exciting match up! GMG

Not really, Army would have brought out a much better crowd and local fan interest than Houston. Nobody cares about Houston in DFW

outside of texas (& west louisana) id agree but you have zero clue if you think this is true within texas...vs Houston is top 4 attended if not #1 for every g5 texas team...

we bring the most fans of any teams willing to travel to their stadium, about 3-5k.
i guarantee youd have said the same thing that nobody cares about houston in the austin area...except our game was completely sold out for texas state and had 3k people in standing room only (highest attended game ever for texas state)

houston vs unt is still unt's most attended game ever
not including utsa first ever year, where every game was doing crazy numbers, we are the #4 most attended home utsa game outside of year 1 (arizona beat us by a 100 people, another was a top 10 Oklahoma st)

you have zero clue about what you are talking about..unt, utsa texas state have all claimed they want to be rivals with us, their fans come out of the woodworks to trash talk whenever we play them..san antonios mayor makes a jersey bet with houstons mayor everytime we play...

We all believe Houston would generate more interest than Norte Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Michigan. What about UT, A&M? When you talk about bringing in a splashy opponent UH is way down the list.

More people watch SEC and Big 12 in Houston than UH (proven by top 20 chart) much less in DFW where UH is just an after thought. For a regional G5 opponent, yes Houston is good opponent but nowhere near the opponent UNT fans were expecting. I'm sure it will be a decent crowd with the local UH alumni but so would Army. And Army would have generated interest among local Vets, soldiers from Fort Hood and they could have a military appreciation day and showcased their university for potential students.

Ruston is not much further than Denton and Houston brought a smaller crowd than quite a few regional G5 opponents

BTW You are referring to UNT first game ever in their new stadium. It wasn't because they were playing UH, yeah you forgot to mention that part 03-lmfao

Good job making you point by just making stuff up... No one is saying UH is a more attractive opponent than Ohio State. But it more attractive than Army, and I think more attracted than P5 bottom feeders

What's your issue with UH? Is this some kind of inferiority syndrome?

I didn't realize we were such a lowly opponent. Really bruises the ego. I hope the Mean Green don't run up the score.

BTW You are referring to UNT first game ever in their new stadium. It wasn't because they were playing UH, yeah you forgot to mention that part 03-lmfao

1) first of "Norte Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Michigan. What about UT, A&M?"..i clearly wrote "teams willing to travel to their stadium"..not a single one of those teams are touching their stadiums..

2) why do you make up BS..houston oklahoma was rated higher in the houston area than Texa ND (which was the highest rated game nationally that season)..you literally make up BS every time we debate ...i really dont feel like looking it up but when the whole big 12 fiasco was happening every houston fan posted an article that showed 3 houston games (2 vs g5) rated higher than all but 2 big 12 games (for all 14 teams).. houston owned the houston market....your top 20 charts statement is a lie as it supports houston not your made up facts

3) houston oklahoma, had dominant dfw ratings (almost 300k) and before you state that it was because of Oklahoma, we drew over a 100k more viewers in dfw than oklahoma/tcu..and the dfw rating site is pretty trash and hard to navigate but i i couldnt find any tcu/baylor/texas tech game that rated higher (including vs oklahoma) the last 2 years
http://www.unclebarky.com/dfw_files/arch...-2016.html

4) so we are just going to pretend UH/la tech didnt do 24k (and at the time of the game no one thought we were good)... la tech struggles to do 24k now and your team is drastically better, literally the year before you could only muster 23k for a top 5 boise

if we played at la tech next season, with both of us being perceived as good, we both know it would likely crack top 5 attended la tech games ever

5) and yes it was UNTs first game at the new stadium, what you are missing is that they desperately wanted us to open it.. that they were looking for a big opponent to open and were basically praising us for coming...i can almost guarantee the 2019 game will be their second best attended game ever

every time we talk, its almost built on animosity and not facts

RE: North Texas/Houston Sign 2 Game Series
Oklahoma State, Texas Tech or even Kansas State would have generated more interest and also a P5 opponent that many were hoping for. Only reason to drop Army would be for P5 IMO.

Houston had 2 games in the Top 20 games in its own Houston Market. The rest were Big 12 and SEC. That chart has being posted many times on this board.
Houston would have zero in DFW if wasnt for Oklahoma and we all know this as truth. Having lived here for many years OU presence is tenfold of UH in DFW.

UH is worthy G5 opponent and has had some good seasons here lately but sustained success such as Boise remains to be seen

The basis of your theory is flawed. They didn't drop Army for UH. They dropped them for Liberty.

Not to get in the middle of your argument, but North Texas only added the Liberty series because we needed to free up the dates for the Houston series, once Army agreed to drop their games. Liberty was really the only option based on the short notice.

For the record, I have it on good word that our AD isn't finished adjusting our schedules. A P5 series isn;t out of the question at this point.

This is 100% false.

When North Texas was building Apogee, Houston wanted to be the first opponent. The Houston AD desperately wanted to use this game to pressure U of H donors and fans into funding a new Houston stadium. North Texas didn't have to host Houston in that game. North Texas had other options.

in texas (with the G5s), only a fool would pick pick army over houston...you have no clue about this topic.

okstate only does 2 &1s with g5, but ill give you oklahoma state but in texas on the average year houston would draw more than kstate and with texas tech it 50/50

houston drew more than 3k more for utsa than kstate on a year we werent great...
but i acknowledge how the teams are doing will play into it with texas tech and kstate.. and top 15/20 kstate will probably out draw us ..and ranked texas tech...but you black and white p5 state is absurd...when the data clear shows otherwise
and im talkng real data not your made up ones
