MyBB NTR: Thad Matta out at Ohio State
Had a great run at Ohio St. and well, the last 2 seasons ultimately led to OSU parting ways with Matta. Pretty crazy, but that is how soon you can fall out of favor. Recruiting is definitely a high priority and well, when you are mediocre in that department at a university that prides itself in basketball, this is the sort of thing that happens.

they say its a combination of things.
Recruiting has slipped badly...(they lost a prized recruit who didn't think their class would be very good...so he de committed, player transferred, and along with the fact that Matta has a bad back...and is in need of surgery.)
When asked if he was healthy whether he would be the Ohio State coach or not...Matta said "yeah probably".

They are paying him for the remaining 3 years of his contract.
