OT - Barker, DuPree, O'Hara
I've been away so long, just wondering if anyone thinks there's a snowball chance in hell that Hattiesburg will have a new mayor next week?

I see Barker has a degree from Southern Miss - Anyone know anything about him?

Just hoping for the best for Hattiesburg. And yes, someone that would work with Southern Miss for the benefit of both the school and the city would be nice. 04-cheers

Dupree has a degree from USM and a Doctorate in Urban Skoojabeez or some crap from the distinguished educational institution of Jackson State. Plus he is a confirmed friend of EagleBeav.

One of Barker's plebes asked if I was a "Wegisthird voter in the thity of Hattiethburg" a few weeks ago, when I told him I was in Palmers Crossing he had no clue where or of what I was talking about.

These new businesses can't wait to get here I'm sure.

Toby is a friend of mine. Great guy who will definitely be a strong supporter of USM should he win.

As opposed to all your friends being as white as the driven snow (literally and figuratively) 03-lmfao

Went to H.S. with him back in the 1890's, played pickup basketball games with him many moons ago, and saw him a few years back at some shindig my daughter's boss concocted and enjoyed talking to an old classmate......hayell, we's regular get-together accomplices and partners in crime!

sounds like O'hara is your guy then

"What qualifies you to run for this position or makes you the best candidate? Fix bad roads and bridges; legalize marijuana for industrial medical and recreational use (instead of corn, add hemp to gasoline).

Consolidate city and county government; provide $8,000 school vouchers, per child, for school choice; stop using police radar; in Hattiesburg, make null and void over 5,000 non-violent arrest warrants. Pay bus drivers $20 per hour; begin free college internet classes (CLEP); raise $3 million to build a new park, playground, basketball courts and 60-seat computer lab in Palmer's Crossing."

i pegged Ohara for a serious wingnut from his photo alone. but damn, after reading the article....

http://www.hattiesburgamerican.com/story...362442001/

Sounds like Barker is your man. Get out an vote!

Looking good for Barker. This is good huh? Think he will want to work with the university and realizes Hburg is sitting on a gold mine if put to use properly?

IMO you will see some changes in a good way. Toby is very pro-USM.

Dupree being gone may be one of the best things to happen to Hburg in a long time.

In what way do you draw a connection between Bennett and Dupree? Just curious.

Hayell, in another thread I was accused of being DuPree's bestest friend....and I don't know this O'Hara guy from Maureen or Scarlett O'Hara...

But I DO KNOW, iffen I voted for Agent Orange, I wouldn't have the gall to question someone else's voting habits..04-cheers
