I think you mean "technologically," not "technically."

If you have heard the term Apple TV or Chromecast or Roku or..., you are using a device that hooks up to your television that streams content over the internet to your television.

Netflix is a streaming service. ESPN 3 is a streaming service.

Radicals cancel their cable, or satellite service, and only stream content. This is called "cordkilling".

Additionally, if you watch television over your smartphone or computer, you are streaming.

Is the digital network paying any extra money to the MWC schools? I get that it's nice for you guys to watch your baseball and Olympic sport games on it, but does it generate money?

This is not a revenue stream for the MWC. It's lucky if whatever revenue they have pays for it's operational cost

Yes, it is beginning to. Not much but it'll get bigger especially if we decided to go more of the digital side of things after our current TV lineup.

It just started to...even if its very little but there is hardly any operational cost since the schools are the producers of the games shown.

I went back and looked at your link and saw that 10 football games were played on the MWC digital network!? So 10 MWC football games weren't on TV?

Correct, things could change though, schools are getting tired of 8:30 pm kickoffs, especially in November, when game temps start in the 30s and don't end till after midnight. There has been talk of streaming more games after the current contracts end and have better start times.

Yes, since the Hawaii home games are on Oceanic PPV and Root Sports gets quite a few not picked up by ESPN or CBSSN.

I hope we get rid of Root and put those games on the MWDN or with the new Stadium network if the Tribune-Sinclair merger is approved when our current TV contract is up.

We know what templefootballfan means, and that's all that counts. English is hard to grasp as a second language or adult if you weren't privileged growing up. It's the thoughts that matter, not words or grammar. 03-wink

I miss watching MTN on Directv. They always did quality specials on their conference's rivalries. The one on CSU/WYO history was really good.
