Granted, I see this article was published back on April 9th ... so not even sure off the top of my head if the UC occupation was before or after this one .... but ....

I think occupation is a pretty weak gimmick. It might have worked the first time, or first couple times, but it got real old, real fast. College admin across the country probably shared emails privately along the lines of "we can't allow this to become a thing, or it will happen at every school, so put your foot down". And I feel just fine if a school decides to call the police to remove the students.

Don't know what to say ... I'm sure each situation is different.

Perhaps the number of students participating and/or supporting that occupation is much higher, so the admin fears a huge loss of student enrollment? No idea.

I don't care how massive of a university you are ... Ohio St, Auburn, Berkeley, doesn't matter .... if enough mass of the student body gets behind something, you can't just ignore it and arrest everyone.
