Why? They were a combined 12-46 the past 2 seasons and haven't had a winning record since the 07-08 season.

Good addition for those 2 sports as current MAC members like Buffalo have dropped Soccer and others may be considering dropping men's non revenue sports as well.

MBB? Men's BaseBall? I dunno, maybe. They do have a number of CWS appearances in their history, but as a Div 2 team. Now that we're in the same conference, though, the games shouldn't be TOO hard to get if the MAC baseball schools want them.

Come on, scheduling can't be that hard. We've done it with Football as an Indy and our BB OOC schedule is already done. The two TBA are Minnesota and BYU.

BB is a total rebuild with 7 players transferring after Kellogg was fired. Not hoping for wins but some team chemistry and good x's and O's.

I can't speak to Soccer as my school isn't in it but for Wrestling this is a nice pickup for Missouri, Northern Iowa and Northern Illinois to have Edwardsville in the conference.

This is also good for the MAC TV deal and getting games on ESPN3 with a team located directly in the St. Louis market.

As far as Edwardsville performing in MAC wrestling, its a program on the rise but I do have some question marks how competitive they'll be in a power wrestling conference.

Soccer replaces Buffalo, and it's a pretty major upgrade (sorry Bulls fans). SIUE has a NCAA championship in their trophy cabinet and makes the tournament on the regular. Soccer is their #1 sport on campus, with a soccer-specific 4000 seat stadium.

UNI is going Big12 wrestling, so SIUE was needed.

SIUE will step up their wrestling because it will be a Mizzou rival, at least for them.

Feel free to schedule all the H&H you wish with them. I don't want to sacrifice a valuable H&H to play them. They are the type of team Akron can afford to buy.
