Coryn claims there will be a health care bill
https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-news-yo...1496358236
WSJ presents the news the MSM won't cover. One of note:
• Sen. John Thune, the upper chamber’s third-ranking Republican, said his caucus had moved beyond meetings and on to “drafting” the base language of an ObamaCare replacement. The No. 2 Republican, John Cornyn, vowed the Senate would “absolutely” have a bill by “the end of July at the latest.”

I'll be awaiting to see the coverage for pre-existing conditions. My guess...20,000 a year for a policy that covers one aspirin tablet per year. Plus, I'll have to spend 2000 hours filling out forms detailing every single pill or doctor I've ever seen.

So, we're cutting the paperwork in half! I'm for that.

Its a shame the Democrats tried to make such a massive change on a one party basis in 2009 and can't be trusted to revamp it now.

So what then happens when the Senate drafts, debates, and passes a bill that looks almost nothing like the bill passed by the House?

There has to be a baseline from which to start, correct?

Are you saying that you think the senate's version is the version that will ultimately become law in the country?

It will be closer. They will hash it out in committee.

If it does not use Bismarck as its template? It is going to be as equally schitty as the ACA and this other dumb crap the GOP has put forth.

What do you think they'll do for PEC?

I don't think they'll get rid of it. Too much political capital.
There are two ways to deal with it.
1) a mandate,
2) premium surcharges for people who drop off and come back on.
Obamacare tried 1, the republican bill tried 2.
There is a third way, true universal health care. That requires the injection of tax dollars and that is the elephant in the room. But something like Bismarck, where the government funds a basic plan and you're on your own above there, still seems to me to be the most reasonable approach.

LOL. Paperwork is no problem under Obamacare. The real nightmare was under the old Risk Pool. Hours upon hours upon hours of paperwork just to get turned down by the regular insurance companies so you can get in the risk pool.
Its a tremendous waste of time.
I think I'm just going to write on the application...."I'm on Truvada (20,000 dollars per year) and I'm a Diabetic, please contact me if you issue comprehensive coverage policies for people like me and I'll fill out the forms....otherwise just send me the turn down letter".

Well, it's not like the Republicans wanted to even bother with it at the time. Spending 8 year b!tching and complaining about the healthcare act is one thing. They also stated time and time again how they could create a better healthcare system.

You obviously have no clue.

So you want to pay some premium to an insurance company, and in return you want them to pay $20,000/year for your Truvada. How much do you think your premium should be? If it's less than $20,000/year, where does the rest of the money come from?

They've been talking about it on and off since the 60s. When they wanted to participate, they got Obama's, "elections have consequences."
It was a horrible leadership move by Obama. He might have gotten something that stuck if he hadn't tried to ram it down the way he did.
