Good question.

No one knows. Huge mistake not starting this morning.

This is part of the problem with moving the season back a couple of weeks. You push the postseason back to June and it is the rainiest time in the rainiest region in the country where most of the regionals are located.

At least we aren't like Fort Worth, where they still have 2-3 games to be played.

I saw 3:30 CT on ESPN a moment ago. Don't know if that's still accurate.

the ncca has screwed (TTT) the pooch on this one in epic fashion.....

a 10 am start would've worked out perfectly.....

a 2 pm start after the first cell passed would put us in the 5th now....

at this point, I think they're waiting for a drought to settle in....

the ncaa is steaming pile of 01-rivals

RE: C-USA in the NCAA Baseball Tourney
Nebraska: 0-2
Michigan: 0-2
Iowa: 1-2
Indiana: 1-2
Maryland: 1-2
Big Ten total: 3-10

Rice: 2-2
Southern Miss: 2-0 (with at least 2, hopefully more games to be played)
C-USA total: 4-2

Conference USA, with only 2 teams to the Big Ten's 5, has won more total games than the Big Ten. Both C-USA teams individually outperformed any given B1G team, and Southern Miss has yet to lose.

C-USA > B1G

Just imagine if Old Dominion and La Tech had gotten in...

RE: C-USA in the NCAA Baseball Tourney
I think C-USA's better programs need to try to get at least one weekend series with the Big Ten each year. We should be able to win many of those games, but people will still see P5 and think "nice win." Should be able to get some B1G teams down here in OOC as they'd probably like escaping the cold. Could really help our perception.

Call that my hot take.

Even we beat Indiana (supposed best in the Big Ten) one game this year.

Wow! Bases loaded, no outs, and USM comes away with nothing. That hurt to watch.

Nothing in this year's tournament will beat the NCAA site rep in Fayetteville not allowing the tarp to be put on the field after the umpiring crew called the grounds crew out in the middle of an absolute gully-washer at 2:40 AM. It will be a travesty if Arkansas wins that regional after what Missouri State had to put up with there.

This is painful in person. We're already thinking ahead to the next game by keeping our guy in to pitch. But man.... I really wanted to win this one and be done.

My understanding was that the umps decided that since Arkansas had to play in those conditions, it was only fair if Missouri State had to, as well. That's what the commentators said, anyway.

Regardless, Missouri State won today to advance.

OK, guys. You're on your own the rest of the way tonight. It's almost midnight here on the East Coast, you're up 4-1, and I'm calling it a night. Get the win!

The umps were ready to call it a night, but Dave Van Horn argued about it. The site rep then told the grounds crew to stand down. The bullpens had already emptied into the dugouts before the tarp pull was stopped.

And the conditions Arkansas had in the field for were nowhere near as bad as Missouri State had it. Arkansas took the lead on a wild pitch (second in a row) that was still rising when it hit the backstop because the pitcher couldn't grip the wet ball properly.

Justice was served today though.

Back to the matter at hand, I like the way USM has been aggressive at the plate in this nightcap. Nothing like game 1.
