Why the low prediction for WMU?

As always, I think they could bump those numbers if they made even a half-azzed attempt at creating a fun environment, make it an EVENT other than come sit on your butt, watch the game, go home. All the suggestions have been made. With a bit of luck on the weather, some good pricing for the first couple home games, and I think city people can be converted to becoming part of the event. Good things start at the grass roots.

In 2015, Rockets(9-1) drew 16,100 to the GB on Black Friday with spotty showers and 57 degrees. i'm not expecting more this season.

Those mid-week November games are attendance killers for MAC schools. I think your assessments of a 20K average again is right. Would love to see UT get back to the days of averaging 25K but that may never happen again if nearly half of our home schedule, including our best divisional games, are late season Tuesday and Wednesday night affairs with 6pm kickoffs.

Elon game should produce in the low 20s as well if the weather is good; everyone likes Week #1 of the season no matter who you play

The Tulsa game will be a great barometer for those that think the AAC is an option for UT. If we struggle drawing for Missouri I do not have high hopes for Tulsa. Not sure the casual fan knows that Tulsa is in Oklahoma let alone that they have a good program. If that game draws the 24K predicted then I am wrong, I would predict lower

Attendance for Mizzou was about 24,000. The Friday night rain storm washed out a lot of the HS FB slate around the state. The games were rescheduled on Saturday and it did hurt attendance in the Glass Bowl.

The weather will determine attendance for all of these games. It's hard to predict attendance numbers now. I would like to think that Homecoming will be a good crowd!

I guess it's been awhile, but Tulsa beat BGSU in the GMAC Bowl--- by a lot in 2008. The name is out there.

Plus it was an early day game. People working, and going to kids activities, which means attendance was going to be lower than a Saturday night game.

Seriously !!! 03-banghead
Are we going to keep using people working / kids activities excuses again ??
People across the country work on Saturdays, having kids activities, and it does not seem to deter attendance at other schools, who also have early starting times. Possibly winning the MAC will go a long way in filling the GB on a regular basis.

I like the definition of 57 degrees. I was wet and dressed like it was 37 degrees.
