I wonder how many tickets USM could have sold
Game was completely sold out three days ago leaving an untold amount of USM fans and students without tickets PLUS Ms State was given only their allotment of 200. All of the bleacher, bench, and chairbacks are numbered with matching tickets and have been sold allowing standing room only for those who buy a general admission ticket. How many does one think they will allow into the general admission area which is all of the right field and center field area without raising a safety question. There will be cars, trucks, etc backed up out there for tailgting and just how many can be allowed before the fire marshal blows his whistle.

RE: I wonder how many tickets USM could have sold
USA would have bought a bunch more, I know that. Our tickets didn't make it past Jaguar Athletic Fund members for the general public to buy, and even then they had to sell those tickets to the JAF members with the highest points because of demand. MSU doesn't need more tickets. They're not entitled to always have the crowd advantage, no matter what they think.

Good luck to the Jags and Golden Eagles! I hope it's us in the regional final.

We won't have over 6500 in that place, for safety reasons.

Guaranteed.

If we had a 15k stadium, probably could have sold it out.

RE: I wonder how many tickets USM could have sold
MS State fans cried foul when they had to come here in 2014. They thought they had the right to buy more than the 200 that were allotted to their athletic department. Our season tickets holders and RCAF members snatched up all other tickets available.

Ole Miss fans were worse with the super regional the following weekend and they got 600 tickets.

Seeing some common characteristics between those Mississippi SEC schools...

Good luck to USM this weekend. Make that series win for us look better 03-wink

It is horrible. They absolutely cannot wrap their little minds around the fact that this is dictated by the NCAA and not the University.

I have almost reached my boiling point with these nutjobs.

My thought is.....come football season when LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss come to Starkville, if the visiting teams request additional tickets for a sold out game is State going to tell their fans "sorry guys, the other team needs more tickets so you're gonna have to give your tickets up".......NOT A CHANCE. Granted this is comparing football to baseball but when you are the visiting team you play by the home team or conference or NCAA rules, not the one that works out best for you or your team as the visitors

Good game today Eagles. I had a busy day at work but was managing my conference call and session with my clients while following your game on Twitter. Great comeback! That UIC pitching is legit. Maybe they will get MSU tomorrow. :)

Yeah, but the original post asked how many we COULD HAVE sold. As in, if the stadium wasn't a barrier.

That was a GREAT game. I couldn't see all of it but I did see how the Eagles battled back. Will you play State tomorrow?

Haha. Nope. I've not banned many people as a mod actually. Less than one hand's worth in 4-5 years. 03-lmfao

I got your -2 reputation points because you didn't believe me. Since you are questioning me openly and because I can't PM you, I looked at the records because I was curious. I've only banned 3 users ever, and they were short temp bans:
You -- 3 week SBC Board ban
Guy 2 -- 1 week SBC Board ban
Guy 3 -- 3 month-site wide ban (later extended by Super mods)

Contrary to what you might think, I tend to be lenient and issue a PM warning or site warning % rather than issue a ban, when I can. I have never issued a permanent ban. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. You're not supposed to question/discuss mod actions in public, so if you want to discuss, turn your PM on and we can discuss.

So, how did a fan of a Sunbelt school end up being an "administrator" on the CUSA board anyway? Geeez.....talk about the Fox guarding the henhouse.....

But who are we kidding here? Nothing surprises me about this stupid conference. 01-wingedeagle

By the way, all kidding aside, you made a screwball mistake when you put Dawgxas in the penalty box. "Dawgxas" is clearly one of the best posters on this CUSA board.
