Of course they want the Paris agreement, it will help squeeze out even more competition or potential competition thus giving them a control in multiple markets.

That's fine if you support it. Just understand that it means we no longer want to lead the world.

Wrong. It means we no longer want to be led BY the world.

Their interests are not necessarily our interests. I don't care what they want.

Anything that helps strangle or hinder the little guy is good for them.

RE: U.S. Business Leaders urge Trump to abide by the Paris Agreement
Elon Musk is the biggest fraud in the last 100 years. Who cares what he says.

From Yahoo...notice the word "raised"... yeah raised my ass

"The Green Climate Fund, intended to help less-developed nations move to clean energy and adapt to climate change, has raised a total of around $10 billion from advanced economies so far, including $3 billion from the U.S. The long-term goal is for $100 billion a year from all sources by 2020.

He said this trend is resulting in fewer jobs, lower wages, shuttered factors and diminished economic production.

Aside from Elon Musk and Tim Cook, looks like most of the giant oil companies also want to see the U.S. abide by the agreement. Whether we like it or not, we are all interconnected. Even if the agreement is largely lip service only, the appearance of supporting it alone is important to long term U.S. business prospects on an international level. Emissions should drop naturally over time as technology evolves, so why rock the boat when you don't have to?

The fact it put a greater burden on us than BRIC made this a bad deal.

True, but the Paris accord is nonbinding. You do some mea culpas, sponsor legislation you know will fail and pound legislation favorable to growth.

You do realize the only thing worse than not fixing a problem is pretending to fix a problem, right?

I wouldnt mind them "pretending" to fix the problem. I just dont want them spending my money to do it.

This thing sounds like it was set up to be another "Nato" type fund, where Merkel sits around on her ass and wanted us to make up for Germany's shortfall.

Musk is the king of crony capitalism. His Tesla company wouldn't exist without the huge subsidies he gets all to produce a car that few can afford. So him leaving the President's council is great. Maybe he can leave his subsidies there in D.C. when he leaves.
