Obviously, there is a lot of unknown. But it might be nice for them to put a little effort into the previews, instead of automatically saying that nobody knows what will happen at UAB. In this particular story, they mention that size and depth is an issue up front for UAB. Truth is that the coaches added four really big dudes in the December signing period (which helps with size) and the depth really appears to be okay. Doing a little research might be a good idea instead of writing blind. At the very least, you can find the spring game on Youtube and see for yourself.

Yeah. I didn't get that part either when, as said, all that needs to be done is look at the Spring roster:

Hey, BTW, what happened to the Memphis OL transfer?

53 Zach Sims OL 6-1 296 Homewood, Ala./Homewood
78 Garrett Morgan OL 6-2 286 Gulf Shores, Ala./Gulf Shores
62 Ezra Lane OL 6-2 337 Montgomery, Ala./Stanhope Elmore

75 Natrell Curtis OL 6-3 312 Phoenix, Ariz./Mountain Pointe

Pick is my man. I am pulling for him to have a great year at TE. Wonderful kid and family.

RE: Conference USA Preseason Position Previews: Offensive Line
I am fond of observing that it is the team's OL that wins the Heisman Trophy. They just don't get their names on it. They are the ones who keep the all star QB vertical so he can throw TD passes, and they open gaps in the DL so the all star RB can romp down the field for glitzy stats. There have been studies showing the OL generally has a higher IQ average than other positions. It is not coincidental that star backfield players always thank their OL after a big play. They know who "keeps their bread buttered".

UAB's success in 2017 will be largely determined by how well the new OL "gells" during the season.
