I see a lot of people talking about donations, marketing and things that ODAF could do better so lets help them out.

I think mailing out car decals to donors is a no brainer. Free advertising and people like their school decals. Down here in NC I see them all over for Rams Club (UNC), Iptay (Clemson), Pirate Club (ECU). We need to increase our donor level so this would be a good start. Also it could get new graduates to start donating early.

More suggestions are welcome.

Agree. If you donate the minimum 50 bucks per year to be a member you should get a magnet for your car. Even if that means the school gets 0 dollars revenue from your first year. Or hell even if you lose money for the first year for each member. It's the successive years and advertisement on every bumper you can possibly get that is what you want.

I think that should be lowered to 50/year.

They did away with Big Blue Club for some unknown (to me) reason and came up with the generic, awkward ODAF. For starters they need to go back to Big Blue, or at least something with the word CLUB in it. Let's try to make it sound like a donation is entrée to something special, you know, like a club!!!~

I am afraid the odu car magnet will help the police ID me when I elude the police!!!!!

Yeah, that's a easy solution. ODAF is fine for a corporate branding of something but if you want jr's sr's to start joining something as they graduate they gotta have some value and something better to belong to. Monarch Nation, Big Blue Club, The Pride, any of those are better.

How bout actually sending out reseating information when they say they will without me having to call several times and still not being able to tell me when I will get my seating appointment.

I wonder if a good idea would be to gain automatic membership to the club the day you graduate.

"Congratulations [newly graduate's name], you've graduated! Here's your ODAF[insert better club name] number. Your rank is [insert insanely high number since they will essentially have only 1 point]. You may increase your rank now or wait until next year when the giving period opens again."

It puts them in the system at least. They never have to donate, but at least they will get updates for their rank and what they can do to increase it. They have the option to throw some money in right away or just leave it until they get a better job or better financial footing.

When I graduated, I didn't even know the Big Blue Club existed - I had to go seek it on my own. I feel like that should be changed.

This is a phenomenal idea. Like hotel points when you reach certain levels, within a calendar year (or some other time frame) you get added perks. Discounted season tix or better seating options, first shot at tickets for non-sporting events. They could tie it to every purchase on campus. Buy a tshirt in the book store and 1 dollar goes to ODAF and you get 1 point. There are so many ways this could be a good idea

Well, the Monarch Maniacs should have been a nice way to get students excited about the programs and supporting them, then be a great transition into the Big Blue Club. But of course, instead of that, we disbanded the Maniacs. Crazy.

Yes, but it's for the first 3 years after graduation.

Yes but the only way they know that is by actually going to purchase season tix. I like the idea of indoctrinating them into the idea of donating while still students. Have your ID card scanned at the book store when you purchase and a percentage of the purchase is donated and you earn points.

I travel fro my job and I am a points whore. I stay in the same brand hotels, rent the same brand cars, and have a hotel points credit card just so I can keep my status and earn more points. While I am spending a crap ton of money and supporting a particular family that's favorite quote was "that's hot", I will some day trade in my hundreds of thousands of points for some amazing vacation. I have to imagine there are more folks like me in the world.

They used to give out car decals until a few years ago. I have a drawer full of them. (I don't buy a new car yearly.) But for some reason they stopped. Maybe it negatively affected the bottom line.

No way you would know about the young alumni discount unless someone told you....I had to look it up when I graduated. Admin needs to better communicate with the students.
