American Conference Academic Consortium?
From the spring meeting media release two days ago, one of the agenda for the meeting is academic consortium.
I really like this idea, but what is going to be the degree of such collaboration?
I, personally, like what B1G does. Absolute most schools belong to AAU (Association of American Universities).
Or Ivy League, it is a Sports Union at first, dating back decades ago.
So back to my point: Can American Academic Consortium be something similar to those two, aiming a higher academic standard and collaboration between its member schools?
It fits a humble man's vision.
Compared to Athletic, Academics make up more than 90% of resources, personnel, and financial commitment.
As of UCF's "mission", my Alma Mater is building a global school that the world will be changed because UCF changes you.
Even as a sports fan myself, sport is just a small glimpse of the importance of a college institution.
But one school can not do it alone. We need partners and comrades.
Can American Athletic be the next evolution?
P.S I know this is just a crazy man's idea. But heck, I love College Sports a looooooot

My guess is it sounds a lot more impressive than it is.

RE: American Conference Academic Consortium?
AAC started their academic consortium in 2016. First meeting was this spring at Temple. Lots of conferences do this. ACC, SEC, America East, etc. The 28 Jesuit schools belong to one and have a connection to a global group of Jesuit schools too.
They run seminars, exchange best practices, facilitate interdisciplinary studies, etc.

I think this academic consortium needs to be more collaborative and thorough.
It has something to do with branding of our conference academic profile, too
It could define our conference.
