Broo is an Ohio alum/fan if I recall correctly.

He's a Bobcat..but it seldom enters his broadcasts..
On the whole we have a weak bench of "journalists" except for Dan Hoard, the ENQ UC coverage is RIP, and
the Reds and Bengals dominate the airwaves.
Almost makes me want to read Duane/Not Duane...04-rock

Wichita State is a top 10 team and being touted as the favorite with UC 2nd. SMU is expected in the hunt as well.

Personally I think UC should be the favorite as Wichita State isn't used to be tested more than 2 or 3 times a year in conference. When half them teams in your new conference are better than the 2nd best team in your old conference, who knows what to expect. Heck I would bet our worst teams would probably finish top 3 in their old conference. Don't get me wrong, Wichita State should be really good, but being the hunted in a conference with more firepower is much bigger than being the hunted in the Missouri Valley when only a team or two have a legit chance to upset you.

The other thing I think will potentially bother them the first year is the travel. The MVC was a legitimately regional conference. I doubt they had to go more than 150 miles to any of their games. Now they will be flying to UConn on a monday and Tampa on a saturday. That is going to have an effect on them, especially the first year.

dude, you need a geography lesson...you have to drive 150 miles in Kansas just to get to the next town.

Heck, their travel may even be easier now just because AAC cities are way more accessible than MVC cities.

Very true. Outside of East Carolina, every team in this league has a major international airport in its metro area.

Just remembered we're in a conference with "East Carolina"

3. Will Cane (Broome) be able?

It’s the million-dollar question in Cincinnati’s program, and it’s the only real question regarding the Bearcats entering next season. Unlike his predecessors Troy Caupain, Ge’Lawn Guyn, and Cashmere Wright, Broome will give Cincinnati something different at the point guard spot that it has never really had under Mick Cronin: A slithery, attacking floor general that can get into the teeth of the defense and create for others.

The transfer from Sacred Heart sat out last season per NCAA rules, but is expected to be this team’s starter at the most important position on the floor. The 6-1 lefty averaged 23.1 points and was essentially unguardable when he played two years ago in the NEC. If he tallies half of that number next year for the Bearcats, this is a second-weekend team in the NCAA Tournament.

RE: Bearcats Recognized in Summer Basketball Rankings
Hey it's all just preseason hype but it sure speaks to the immediate impact of adding Wichita State and having two AAC teams in their top ten--and neither one is named UCONN. Once again, we're living in a conference split between "haves" and "have nots" but the haves are a pretty solid group.

Man, Lindy is really putting it out there...when's the last time we've been in ANY preseason Top 10? 1999?

We r badass. I'm stickin with it. A team with Washington and Clark in the post and Evans and Cumberland on the wing is the best team we have fielded since 01.

Heck, Broome is from what reports tell me our most explosive player! It's all good.
