single game football tickets not yet available
Living in Ohio season tickets do not make sense for my family. That said I try to attend at least one home game a year with my wife, daughter and granddaughters.

It is unbelievable that this close to the season the NIU web site says that I cannot yet purchase tickets for individual games. NIU needs to get attendance up and things like this do not help.

My daughter attended Miami University and individual game tickets are currently available for Redhawk games.

They're a bunch of morons. Ridiculous. I'm sorry. I'm a fan of the program, but that's ridiculous.

Not to be a dick here, but.....

Are you concerned they're going to sell out or something? The schedule is out. Not sure what the concern is here. They'll be on sale before the game you want to go to. I promise.

Also, aren't we still like 90 some odd days before the season starts? Is this really THAT close to the season?

My daughter and granddaughters live in Wisconsin and we were visiting them this weekend. We had credit card in hand ready to buy tickets last night and we could not do so.

In my opinion this is a sloppy business practice by NIU athletics. They should go out of their way to make it easy for anyone and everyone to buy tickets especially since we struggle with our attendance.

In our case we will keep checking and buy the tickets when they become available but there are some people that would give up and choose other entertainment options. Come on NIU, get your act together.

I get that, but season tickets are something like $55 to get in. They're probably advertising that as much as possible before releasing single game tickets.

I really don't think single game tickets not being available yet is something that out of the ordinary.

Illinois only has season ticket packages/mini plans available on their website.

A quick google shows Northwestern didn't put single game tickets on sale until August 2nd last year.

Looks like San Diego St. won't put theirs on sale until July 17th.

Wyoming put theirs on sale July 29th last year:

Seems pretty normal to me. Certainly don't see it as "ridiculous" or that they're "a bunch of morons."

I don't think that it is ridiculous or that they are morons.

I do think that they are missing an opportunity to increase attendance by not being in a position to accept money from families like mine this close to the beginning of the season.

In this situation some families will choose substitute entertainment from an event or activity that is in a position to accept their money as they plan their next family outing.

At any rate I will be at the stadium with my family on September 01 and we are all looking forward to it!
