And those of you who keep bringing it up don't say a word about the Pens' Murray conceding only 4 goals in 3 games in Pittsburgh and 9 goals in 2 games in Nashville. It's the same damn thing. So can we stop beating a dead horse and enjoy the rest of the series?

Yea it is the same, how can 2 teams play so differently home and away?. Its mind boggling and rare so why can we not talk about it?...Nashville obviously had to win a lot of road games leading up to this final....

So do you start Rinne in game 7 if you win game 6?

Yes, you have to start Rinne in a game 7. His luck in Pittsburgh has to change sometime, right? He should not have been pulled last night. His defense in front of him stunk.

I get home advantage, but wow.

WDF is up with each home team looking unbeatable and the road team looking like trash?

The link below shows the winning percentages at home and away for this season for all NHL franchises. What's interesting here is that the Penguins and Predators are #1 and #2 respectively when it comes to the disparity between their home records and away records.

The Pens won 79.5% of their home games and 52.6% of their away games for a 26.9% difference, while the Preds won 68.3% of their home games and 43.6% of their away games for a 24.7% disparity. That might explain this series in a nutshell, as home ice seems to make a bigger difference for both of these teams (at least this year) than it does for anyone else.

Yeah but its not just winning as a win can be by just a goal..... these have been blow out city for the home teams each game.

He's played bad in all the games...but his replacement hasn't been better either... tough call.

Rinne's play is one of, if not the main reasons for Nashville being in the Finals.

And his three worst games have been in Pittsburgh, no?

Again, Pittsburgh was the highest scoring team in the NHL this season, both in the regular season, as well as now in the playoffs. Nashville didn't have to face anyone like them in the Western playoffs, as the teams they faced in the West come in at #9, #12, and #18 in goals scored. Five of the top six scoring teams this season were in the East. It really isn't a stretch to think that his worst games might come against the top scoring offense.

Tell me that whistle wasn't suspect.... Maybe the NHL is protecting the Pens after all...

Sure looks like it. That should have been a goal for the Preds. Really bad call by the official. You don't blow the whistle in the middle of a live play like that when the puck is still moving near the net like that. Terrible call.

RE: OT: Stanley Cup
If you told me Nashville would have been in the Finals playing for Cup before the playoffs started I would not have believed it....However its still disappointing to make it this far and lose.....Nashville did not get that many breaks this series from refs and or many bounces, but it happens....Just stings to lose to Pittsburgh, rather lose to any team than a team from Pittsburgh, haha....Titans 0-1, Preds 0-1 in championships the first 20 years, hoping we see them back in the next 20 years and of them breaks through!

Sorry I'm late to this thread. Nashville had a great playoff run, and helped bring some much needed attention to the NHL. Kudos to you all!

Nevertheless, the bad guys get the job done again! All the bad country music in the world can't stop Sid & The Kids...Three-peat's a comin'!

Go Pens!
