California assembly passes single payer bill
No idea how to pay for it but why let that stop anything.

I say, go for it. If states are the laboratories of democracy, then California is Los Alamos. California is sufficiently populous and diverse, that it would be a better test than the previously failed attempts in Vermont and Colorado.

I'm sure next governor Gavin Newsom will be able to find the funding. Especially all wealthy fat cats in Hollywood.

Until Silicon Valley and Hollywood up and move out of CA, there is plenty of money.

Then why are they swimming in debt?

California’s Total State and Local Debt Totals $1.3 Trillion

California’s unfunded pension debts may be larger than acknowledged

My cousin who lives in Cali will love this. Especially considering she's a Bernie-bot.

Looks like it still has to pass the state house as well as full vote in state Senate. Article hinted that it got our of committee so quickly because committee chair has their name on the front of the bill

Interesting story to follow

If this is was CA wants so be it but don't ask for federal bailout if it doesn't
