What if 5-1 October 14th?
That date is the bye week Saturday and we could be 5-1. Here is the schedule of the first 6 games before that week:

Austin Who? Peay
@ Meechigan
@ Miami, O
@ Navy
Marshall
UCF

No way we go into Ann Arbor and come out with a win. All the others are winnable games but I know QB and OL play will be key to success. I tend to be an optimistic person and something tells me Coach Fick will have his guys ready to run through a wall for him, play disciplined football and stay close in every game with the exception of the trip to Ann Arbor. If the Cats are 5-1 at the bye...I will run nude around my house under the cover of darkness (with or without my wife's permission). Book it!

Do you feel 5-1 is realistic? If so, what will you do?

God that would be nice... I won't do any nude laps for a 5-1 record but if by some miracle we beat Michigan at the Big House, then all bets are off. Regardless of where I am 03-shhhh

I think we lose @ Michigan and @ Navy. UCF is a toss-up. 3-3 or 4-2. 5-1 isn't impossible, but unlikely.

I like our chance for the upset in Ann Arbor.

5-1 or 4-2 is "possible" (hell, anything is "possible" at this moment).

Might as well be optimistic.

I don't think we are nearly as bad talent wise as most seem to think. That team last year was so distracted, unorganized and poorly coached it was amazing they were as competitive as they were. Let's be honest, we play in the AAC, not exactly a gauntlet. I am pretty confident Fickell will have an amazing effect on the team and it will be a very successful season.

What helps us greatly is the large class Tubs brought in then fully redshirted!

The AAC is better than it is given credit for, particularly at the top (it is weak at the bottom). Navy, UCF, USF, Houston and Memphis have some good talent and are better than teams we played in the Big East with the exception of WVU and maybe 1 or two years at Louisville.

I don't think it's terrible, I'm just saying there isn't any team that has so much talent that UC will have no real shot at beating them.

Try to avoid a public place...you don't need to end up on the 6 o'clock news. That's why I recommend going stealth.

RE: What if 5-1 October 14th?
4-2 would be big step in the right direction. The key game is at Miami Ohio, lose the victory bell and UC is looking at a 1-3 start and at best 3-3 midway through the year.

5-1 would be amazing and unrealistic given most pre-season picks, Athlon has UC picked to go 4-8 while Sporting News picks UC last place in the league. UC will be better and will make a bowl game but 6-6 through 8-4 are the most likely outcomes in my view. Also the wins will come once UC figures things midway through the year.

Lord knows, I do not like the previous HC, but THIS...so much THIS!

Not to mention I think the previous HC was not into...coaching. He, in his best day, was more a "Manager." Maybe he was into delegating the actual coaching to his assistants. But even the left-over starting talent has not been "coached up," IMO. So it will be interesting to see what even some of our "known" talent can do with some actual "coaching" and teaching.

I'm sure these redshirt fellas will inject some talent this year, but I'm not sure why we need to thank Tubbz for this. Part of the reason he isn't here is his inability to consistently recruit field-ready talent. These guys may pan out to be quality players, but that seems like a lot of guys to redshirt in one year.
