I know we have laid and egg or two over the years but I can't remember the last time we were as big an underdog as this.

I think it was WVU that we opened 30+ point dogs to.

I'll take GS and 35 all day, easy money, wouldn't surprise me to see you put alittle scare into the Tigers.

If 2016 never happened, I'd agree with you, we have rarely lost that badly even to P5's when we were FCS, but there is too much uncertainty this year for me to lay any money down on it.

I think this game will tell us a lot, if you can keep it close and respectable, then I think a lot of people will look at last year as something of an anomaly, new staff trying to get their footing etc, but if its noncompetitive, especially right out of the gate, then ya, its probably time to start worrying in Statesboro.

Auburn is an 8-win SEC team, and they'll be breaking in their Baylor transfer QB who is in his first year in their system.

I don't know if we'll get back to where we need to be this year (we might), but I'd still take us all day long here.

If Sean White was set to be the starting QB for Auburn this coming season, I'd give Georgia Southern a chance to keep it close...

But with Baylor transfer Stidham as their QB, plus Pettway and Johnson back in their backfield... I really think there's a chance it could be a bloodbath for you guys.

I can't express strongly enough my desire for everyone to win their OOC games. I have never in my life bet formally on a sporting event, but I might for that spread. #togetherwerise or whatever our new moronic hashtag is... and may I just say it is sickening to hear the media report on "news" and say the word "hashtag." If everything else is so insane in the world, why can't the Sunbelt other than USA and ULM score some P5 murders?

Don't you guys also have a ton of new faces?

I really think the TO is a game changer. Auburn might not be expecting what they're bringing with their new OC who plans on running a true TO, not what they only ran in the last game of the season (#salty), and they've (Auburn) historically come out of the gate slow versus lesser opponents.

That was some of that Fritz/Ruse option for you. Leading conspiracy theory after that game was that Ellison was calling plays.

He hasn't taken a snap since 2015, and he's new to Gus Malzahn's system. He doesn't scare me.

GS opened up +36 vs West Virginia and it got bet all the way down to +20. Vegas won big with that game.

AState opens +9 at Nebraska for week 1, which is the lowest I've ever seen our line for a road game with a P5.

While I won't deny that WVU handed it to us, it's hard to use that game as a guide for betting the Auburn game.

I'm not saying the Eagles would have won, but I think the cover happens if Ellison isn't ruled ineligible. Favian Upshaw turned into a solid QB for us, but he had no chance against WVU. Ellison probably guts out a few drives to find the scoreboard and keep the defense from being worn out by halftime.

I'm not a betting man but that sounds about right. Nebraska is no where near what they used to be and if stAte actually plays to your potential there is no reason that is not a winnable (or at least respectable) game.

So GS beating Auburn would be a bigger upset than App State-Michigan 05-stirthepot
http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ss...memor.html

In all seriousness, take the 35 points.

I'm waiting for the GS win total line to come out at something like 5.5, just so I can take the over.

Not to be a debbie downer, but I think it was actually +19. At least that's what I've seen at several different sites.

Ark State has moved to +20.5, GS is now +36, and App is now +14.5. Not a lot of confidence in the Sun Belt out there...

Definitely-19, -9 for ArkSt in an OOC game would have been free money.

Where are you guys finding lines? EDIT: Nevermind. Found them, but curiously Troy's is blank.
