RE: Conservatism Becoming a Disease - WaPo Opinion
DSF, I don't see anywhere that the author says Conservatism is bad...he is one. He's saying what you're letting trump do to it by fostering these idiotic conspiracy theories like Seth Rich, 3 million illegals voting, etc. are ruining the movement.
And he's not comparing anything to the last administration...because if it was so bad as you say...why would you want to be held to that standard?
And while sure you can balance against those who are saying trump should be impeached (of which I'm not unless by some chance collusion is proven), but you can't do it with nonsense like Seth Rich!
And while the collusion is not proven, there is reason for the Russia story to continue. Republicans are leading congressional investigations into it. There's too many ties to Russia between Flynn, Kushner and all the trump people who ironically all forgot to list meetings with Russians on their paperwork for things like security clearances. You also have the strong possibility that trump may have attempted to obstruct or pervert justice. So even if collusion is never proven against trump, there is still valid things here that are worthy of media coverage and that have to be fully investigated. The job of congress does not change when their majority party is the same as the presidents party. That's a cornerstone of our founding.

lol @ "ruining the movement". I don't think the GOP has ever been this dominant across all levels of gov't

I could change a few words around and perfectly describe the democratic party of the last 25 years
I mostly agree. That's why I'm not one. Although I don't think they normally play into the conspiracy theories quite like the right-wing and their blogoshere does...but it's close.
The democrats have been in full conspiracy theory mode since the day after the election, every single day since, are you kidding me with that crap? Laughable.

I doubt you'll find many self-respecting, honest to God conservatives who will say that anybody connected to the GWB administration is a conservative.

On what, one issue really? And so far it turns out to be coming mostly to fruition. So much so that it might have forced trump, even if he is innocent, to potentially commit a crime.
I call that a win...lol
But no, I'm not pretending that the democrats are innocent, but if you can't see the tremendous amount of conspiracy theories coming out of the right wing you're not being honest.
I mean c'mon from the clinton body count, to birtherism, to pizza gate and on and on.

I tell you what is a mental disease.
Telling voters you want smaller government but create a dumb*** government run prescription drug plan.
Telling voters you want to get rid of Obamacare but then voting to keep Obamacare.
Telling voters you want to abolish the IRS but then don't try to abolish the IRS.
Telling voters you want term limits but then don't try to pass term limits.
Telling voters you want to balance the budget but then increase spending.
State that your own President's budget doesn't spend enough when it wouldn't even balance the budget for 10 years.
Telling voters you want a flat tax but never try to implement a flat tax.
When you and your daddy are best friends with Bill and Hillary Clinton and you claim to be a Conservative Republican.

Conservatism is healthy. Populism won and that's fine. But trying to give conservatism a black eye because of populism...
Needs a re-write correcting the ideology.

"Progressives" aligning with yet another neo-conservative Iraq War architect.
