At the last minute, went ahead and made previously regularly maintained level of annual donation to Owl Club despite being blitzed during year by unexpected and costly divorce. But I left a note/comment along with the donation, to effect that things have got to change for the better in coaching hires and athletics management or else this will be my last Owl Club donation unless and until better results are seen. Since 1995, with the sole exception of baseball, I see Rice athletics as having been the biggest "fail" among all the members of the former NCAA Division 1A....certainly among all the former denizens of the Southwest Conference. I'm giving it one more year, and will give it all I've got, including a rejuvenated Ricefootball.net, if I am still welcome. Beyond that....I don't know.....

For the record, despite being a proponent of redirection donations from the Owl Club to SIG's, I ended up deciding to stick with the Owl Club another year. Mostly out of inertia, but also because I thought Dr. Joe K made some good points in one of his more recent podcasts.

PTH, I know your post was about Owl Club, but for what it's worth I'm sorry that you had to go through a divorce, especially one that was unexpected and costly. Hang in there.
