3:30 is a typical time for TV games. I wonder if they chose that time because they already have something lined up or if it is just a popular game game time.

My guess - and only a guess - is that it is a combination of both. As Potomac has pointed out, we still have no TV contract (at least not announced) for CAA. Perhaps JMU already knows what that entails or anticipates 3:30 TV windows. As a backup, in case we do not play on TV, 3:30 is a good time frame for a lot of fans - not too early, not too late, Goldilocks would love it. :>)

Best part is that it makes the drive down Saturday morning a 7 AM drive instead of a 5:30-6 AM one

I like the 3:30 starts. As others have said makes the ride down from Northen VA a bit easier and have the option of heading home or staying overnight. The 6:00 PM starts early in the season are also good due to possible very hot days. Wife and I made all our hotel reservations months ago when the schedule was released. That way we knew we had rooms (we usually stay in Woodstock as it is cheaper) and that we could cancel them based on start times and whatever else happened to be going on.

CAA releases season schedule yesterday. Kind of pointless, as all the schools had already released theirs, and game times weren't given because a TV deal hasn't been inked yet.

The CAA has released the TV schedules (including live streaming) the last 2 years on June 22, 2016, and June 30, 2015. With no announcement yet regarding TV contracts, it won't surprise me if this drags out later into the summer this year. But, hopefully we will learn more soon on both fronts - that is, new contractual relationship (personally hoping with ESPN + significant usage of ESPN-3/WatchESPN) and the upcoming TV schedules for the '17 season.

Yea if we get to July 1st and don't have both TV contract news plus specific televised games, this has to be a record late announcement.

This coach has now been let go by ETSU. I'm assuming he'll hire someone by then but obviously very last minute.
