Oh, and the reason Duterte was going against the US, and snuggling up to the ChiComs, is because obama was being his usual condescending ass, and talking down to Duterte, and telling him that what he was doing was not proper.
obama also did not back up the PI when the international tribunal declared that China was taking PI islands in the South China Sea. The US could have backed up that decision, and tried to make it stick and halt the Chinese expansion, but did what obama usually did in foreign affairs related to helping our allies...not a damn thing.
