Congrats to Ohio.

Someone on the Rocket board brought this up and I thought it was interesting:
It's a decades old question, one we usually discuss regarding basketball, but are the conference tournaments really a good idea? (one of the ESPN3 announcers brought this up during a Toledo game a couple of days ago). MAC has enough trouble winning in the NCAA without sending its best teams; this year the top two seeds (#1 Kent State and #2 Central Michigan) are gone before the final day.

If we or CMU were appreciably better chances than Ohio of shaking up a regional and going to Omaha this year ... then wouldn't we have been there on the final day?

The other way to look at it is that a conference with relatively long odds against sending a school to the College World Series, the conference tournament is what there is to play for every year.
