RE: Football reseat selection
One nice thing about Personal Seat Licenses is that you do get to keep your seat once you buy it. I know others who would disagree, but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing ODU go this route for a one time massive influx of cash to build the new stadium right from the beginning. ODU may argue that they would get less money in the long run, but thats a gamble. As people give up their PSLs they can be resold. And people are giving up their seats at a pretty good rate right now. I personally know several who were big fans not renewing this year that would definitely have been owners of PSLs.

I like really that idea. I think keeping sections as stable as possible, while making the needed money, should be the goal. It kind of sucks that once you get to know all of your seat neighbors, the deck gets shuffled and you start over. I actually think it affects the overall atmosphere, at least early in the first year of a reseating. People seem to be a bit quieter when they don't know all of the people around them.

Last year we got the opportunity to move our seats, from up against the wall to section 119. We were really happy with the new seat location, but hated to leave the family we sat beside for the last 3 years. They had all graduated from Alabama, but had become ODU fans. I hope we get to keep our seats or do a little better. We could go a few rows higher. Our rank has increased, but we don't pick until after 2 tomorrow.

RE: Football reseat selection
So we upped our ODAF contribution quite a bit and thought that would move us up enough in the selection process to get significantly better seats than we had for the last 2 seatings. Alas when we went to pick yesterday afternoon we pretty much ended up with the seats we got 4 years ago. This puzzles me as I had been told (still being told) season ticket demand is down, maybe a lot down. I find myself wondering if the Premium Seat folks are upping their ODAF contributions despite that overall trend? Just can't get the 2 pieces of info I have to fit together to explain the seats left when we picked yesterday afternoon? Thoughts(?) and Inisights(?) are appreciated.
Also, once you pick you can no longer look at the seat selection screen and I am curious if any Premium seating is still available at this time? Based on what I saw yesterday I would think they are all gone and we are only halfway thru the week for reseating.

RE: Football reseat selection
We had what we considered "bad" seats last year (105 XX or TT or ZZ, something we couldn't climb high enough to get to without a) tripping b) taking a break halfway up the mountain, whatever. We increased our contribution for this year and was amazed when I went online to pick yesterday that those seats from a year ago were LONG gone. We ended up moving to a different section, lower down, but I'm thinking people are upping their ante as well, and it's hard to keep up with a substantial bump in giving.

Yeah, I got 8 tickets in 118 rows Z and AA and 6 more in 119 rows M and N and there were plenty of great seats left on the Visitor's side yesterday at noon.

Yeah, I got a feeling I might end up in 102 again, which we loved, but wouldn't mind 103 or 107 if possible.

All the premium seats on the west (home) side were gone at 12:35 when I picked today.

RE: Football reseat selection
Last year we had 107 - K 5 thru 9 and they were decent seats, not too low. I picked at 3pm yesterday. When I picked, unless you were a group of 3 or less, any good seats in 105 were already gone. And 104 seemed to be the next hardest one to get into. It was tough getting 5 seats together in a row in those sections. Luckily this year I was able to move over to 106 - K 9-13.

I can't wait to do this again in 2019 (roll eyes).

We just picked and basically got the same seats, but on the home side, instead of visitor. We are 104 K, instead of 119 J. We were pretty happy with the view from 104 K, just hated the sun and the score board was hard to see. Now, we have everything. I was worried about going lower than J. There were still 50 yard line seats on both sides really low or really high.

Welcome to the cool side of the stadium, both literally and figuratively! We are in Row L. Here's my early apology in case I spill Pepsi on you!

We got our seats 2 rows lower in section 107, OO, seats 1-5. We wanted end row seats but we could have gone lower and middle seats. Our selection time was around noon on Wed. We are happy where we are.

I wonder what the overall consensus is on which side is better? I've had seats on the West side and then the East side. We chose to switch to the East because the majority of the games were sooo cold on the West side about five years ago. The East side obviously has to deal with direct sun--which impedes your vision throughout the season, is sweltering hot the first game or two, but warms you up significantly later on in the season.

I know the bulk of people pick the West side first, but have many people experienced both sides?

I've been on both sides over the years and you laid out the challenges and benefits accurately. I think getting out of the sun was the priority this year so West was our flavor of the year. But if we have a couple of cool seasons, we'll likely be looking at it the other way next time around in 2019.
