Old Dominion and UTSA will be home teams tomorrow versus Florida Atlantic and Southern Miss, respectively.

RE: CUSA tournament

Unless it's the final vs USM, getting tickets at the gate is no problem. Done it twice so far. Allow some time, not because of long lines, but because the sales staff is sloooow.

They should have just moved some of the dealers over from Beau Rivage...they are used to taking your money fast.

The stands have looked mostly empty....except at SoMiss games. Crowd shots featuring one person.

RE: CUSA tournament
Great. Happy the team made it to the weekend, so I could head out there to watch a few games.
Anyone want to join the current two man tailgate tomorrow at 8am? Unfortunately, I do not want to drive my car+flagpoles 8 hours after work today - so will be flying into MSY.
Anyway, LETS GO RICE!

Blanchard (ODU) vs. Miednik (FAU) today in the 3 pm elimination game. Looking at the two teams' pitching stats (and assuming Wilson is out for sure for ODU), FAU appears to have the most pitching left. But neither team is going to be pitching stars against Rice tomorrow - at this point of the tournament, we probably need to be averaging at least 5-6 runs a game, if not more.

RE: CUSA tournament
With Wilson out, ODU has already run out of pitching. They're using one of their relievers to start against FAU, and FAU has jumped out to a 2-0 lead in B3. FAU used House yesterday (7 IP, 93 pitches in relief) and Meidnick today, meaning if we face them in a rematch tomorrow AM we'll likely see Jr RHP Mark Nowatnick...
17 app, 2 starts, 5-0, 30.0 IP, 2.40 ERA, 2.45 BAA, 6 BBs, 26 Ks
...a quality guy so late in the tournament, and a guy with pin point control. Just 8 extrabase hits.
No question we'd prefer to face ODU given they've already run out of pitching.

Who would we stack up against better for our Game 3 -- ODU or FAU?

Look, we get who we get, and have to take care of our own business, but I don't think there's any doubt that FAU has far more pitching, and is a much more dangerous offensive team (with power bats up and down the lineup, and guys with great plate discipline).

RE: CUSA tournament
ODU 2-hit through the first 7 innings, finally showing signs of life in the B8, with two runs, but an inning-ending pick-off curtailed the rally. Meidnick went 7.1 innings, so FAU's deep bullpen is going to be fully available for us tomorrow.

RE: CUSA tournament
ODU's stud SS, Zach Rutherford is having a tournament to forget. He's 0-8 the past 2 games, and just committed an error that resulted in another FAU run. It's looks like we've got to take down FAU. Let's get it done!

Charlotte up 4-0 now in the 5th. I guess they started their closer? They haven't used many pitchers at all in their first three games so they certainly will have a lot of pitchers available for Sunday including I guess their midweek starter (Flanagan who was 3-3 with a 2.85 ERA this season).

Charlotte pitcher probably at the end of his day. He's at 100 pitches and just walked his fifth batter of the game.
ETA - yup they brought in Bruce to relieve him.

So far, USM has only been a light workout for Charlotte.
