Good evening.

We will be splitting this forum into P5 and G5 subforums. The "College Sports and Conference Realignment" board will become a category, housing those two subforums and no posts of its own. All the posts presently here will become the G5 subforum, and any P5 specific threads near the top few pages will get moved over to the new P5 subforum. For threads about both the P5 and G5, we simply encourage you to start threads on BOTH subforums, and then both threads can take on their relevant angles.


Accordingly, we are now seeking additional moderators for these subforums, particularly the G5 subforum. So in this thread we'll hold a moderator election.

The rules:

1) You may not nominate yourself unless you are a mod elsewhere on this site and want to moderate here as well.
2) GTS retains veto rights in case you get all Vermin Supreme with your votes
3) We will place a fair amount of priority on getting moderation in place that represents a diverse number of conferences, particularly conferences with active boards here at CSN.

I have no problem taking on additional moderation duties on the G5 subforum as well, if the board and mods will have me

And yeah, aside from some harmless petty squabbles that board has calmed down significantly

I would like to nominate arkstfan. He's level headed, knowledgeable, and intimately familiar with the board.

Your group mod effort here has been pretty good. It's also good on the WAC board. I'm fine with any of the civil board mods (there are two uncivil boards I would cringe at a mod from there getting the nod)

If he were interested, I would nominate Spartypants. But unfortunately he insists he is taking a break from forums to deal with "the real world" (you know kids schooling and providing for his family and stuff ... yeah a slacker there). I think he may not have even registered here, just lurks. His politics and mine are 50+ points apart (those 0-100 Senate ratings things), but he is one of the fairest minded and level headed people I know. Keeps things civil while allowing latitude. Would be a fantastic moderator here also. Unfortunately he is not willing to do it again, but he'd be very good.

Anyway no complaints on the team that has covered this specific forum to date.

I'd 2nd and 3rd, but someone should probably check that he feels he has the time to do it. He is the Publisher for Arkansas State's scout site in his spare time. That place aint easy to run.

Where will the AAC posters go? Will there be a "Tweener" board for them?

I second the motion to nominate Frank The Tank for Moderator.

I see the issue where the AAC guys will feel stuck in the middle.

This is hilarious, p5ers here don't like to hear the push back from non qualifyers so they worked to get a separation on here too, wow!

They would go in the G5 since they are not a P5 conference. The true term for a P5 should be Autonomous 5 which how they are referred to in the NCAA Bylaws.

I appreciate the compliment chiefsfan but I'd rather not.

Any reason why this is necessary ?
