RE: NCAA golf championship
Golf Week on the two weeks at Rich Harvest Farms...
"My conclusion on this year’s two-week adventure: It was good, very good. Everything else around the golf was top-shelf. It felt special, and I have to believe the 16,425 fans that passed through the gates were treated with a good college golf experience."
"The folks at Rich Harvest Farms and Northern Illinois were able to sustain the hospitality each day – despite one parking lot attendant who missed the memo. But that won’t change the fact that the volunteers and officials here for these two weeks were the best, and there is not even a close second."

Also worth noting that this was record attendance. Kudos to Brad Hoey for his outstanding, year-long promotion of this event. He lived and breathed the championships for the past 365 days.

Kudos for Matt Gonzalez from NIU as well. He was in charge of all the volunteers and has worked very hard for several weeks. I think he did a great job.

Notice the part about wanting to ship the volunteers from this year to the next couple of venues! Well done to everyone associated.

RE: NCAA golf championship
That's awesome! Maybe that's why you give events to cities, venues and institutions that aren't entitled with the stuff. It's a first class effort, red carpet rolled out, record attendance.
Kudos to Matt G and Brad for sure...that was a Herculean effort on their part.
Also, kudos ro jerry rich. We have all been the beneficiary of his vision and he has opened up a world class venue to allow NIU to have a small part of it. It really does, in an under appreciated kind of way, raise the overall cache of our alma mater. You tell somebody that he's an alum and that's our home course and it catches people's attention.
I hope a few of us are in the same position in the future! I feel like I'm close...minus ya know...a bank account missing a few extra zeros!
