Amador implodes early. Multiple walks, HBP, single and then gets caught napping on a steal of home. After that embarrassment, Coach has seen enough. Kravetz coming in with two outs, two on and 2-0 in the bottom of the first.

Only allowed one hit though!

UAB's 2nd run came on a true "straight steal" of home, per JP. They then took 2nd and 3rd later on the play.

I just tuned in ... and went back to look at that steal. (It's at about 1:01 on the timecode, counting from the beginning.)

Before the pitch, the UAB 3rd base coach appeared to say something to the runner at 3rd, who then took a longer lead. Amador went into a glacially slow windup ... the runner broke ... Amador didn't speed up his delivery at all (!!!) ... and the runner beat the pitch to the plate by a full second! Amazingly careless/clueless pitching.

UAB pitcher is doing a good job scattering hits. Owls have had a hit each inning, but only one hit per inning.

Lead off single by UAB, sac bunt moves him to 2nd. Somehow the next batter doubles but the guy on 2nd only goes to 3rd?

Lackluster offense today.

And Kravetz throws it away, allowing two more runs to score. Now 4-0

It should be an E1, not a double.

Runner broke for home early. Batter hit chopper off the plate to Kravetz. No chance for the putout at home, so Kravetz threw to first ... which sailed high and long, lodging in a fence down near the bullpen! Two runs scored. Grrr.

Can our pitchers please STOP using a full windup when a runner is on 3rd? We've been bitten FAR too often (this year and last) with successful steals of home.

The way things are going, I'd guess he held at 2nd expecting the ball to be fielded in front of whichever outfielder.

Hard-luck T5 for the Owls:

High popup behind the plate ... catcher doesn't see it at first. Then runs back to the wall and makes a diving catch.

After a single ... scorching liner to 3B ... throw to first doubles off the runner. Arrrgh.

UAB pitching change after 5-1/3 innings of shutout pitching. Thomas out, Whitlock coming in. Let's hope we can hit this fellow much better.

Proctor -- walks on 5 pitches.
Myers -- bloop single to short right-center.
DiCaprio -- 0-2 count, weak fisted flyout behind second base. First three pitches were on the outside paint (call strike, wiff, foul back); then a pitch more inside, which Dom fisted up the middle.
Gray -- 1-1 pitch ... outside. gets away from the catcher ... runners advance. Called wild pitch. Wiffed on high-outside 2-2 pitch. Grrr.
