Calm down Cajun Fans, we all know the NCAA will do their best to ensure LSU advances. We can't have any surprise upsets now, it would ruin ESPN's narrative of an all P5 Super Regionals.

Yeah, Minnesota got the ESPN/SEC treatment this PM.
Have to sync local AM radio with ESPN, Lynn Rollins gets paid by the "L". I get it, but he goes out of his way. Would aggravate even a Tech fan it is so over the top.
We'll enjoy the moment for now.

Oh by the way, just to vent, Missouri, who got an at large with a 29-26 record just because their jersey says SEC, was not unpredictably two and done. They should have never been in the tournament.

I was thinking the same about Arkansas. Yesterday, the announcers were bragging about how good the pigs are but when you look at their schedule there is no one with any softball reputation except for a single game against Oklahoma. If you can't win more than .500 in-conference you should not get an at-large selection. Three SEC teams with a .500 or less conference record are seeded, that's just completely wrong.

I feel for you having to pick the lesser of two evils. La Tech played the pigs in football. I was a nervous wreck. Thing is I could never root for pigs so.....Well I'll let you figure it out.

I think the NCAA, regardless of sport, should add a rule that if you don't finish in the top half of your conference, you do not receive an at-large. I am flabbergasted at the idea that the selection committees think that a team that was blown out in its own conference deserves a shot to compete for a national title.

Throw in UGA and South Carolina in the heap with Missouri, Mississippi State and Arkansas. Guess they could not be so obvious to give all the SEC home filed advantages.

RE: NCAA Softball Tournament thread
Cajuns fall in the first championship game 6-1. First pitch last night was at 10:37 PM.
The if necessary game is scheduled for 1 PM today. Rain is in the forecast all day, so if the game does not get played, LSU advances to the super regional as they hold the tiebreaker over us as they are the highest remaining seed (both teams are 1-1 against each in the regional so the next tiebreaker is higher seed).
