This is a true indicator of where the Democrat Party has gone. Joe Lieberman was the last sane Democratic senator. When he ran for re-election as a Democrat in 2006, he lost to a guy named Ned Lamont. Lieberman then ran as an Independent and won.

Republicans are lining up behind Lieberman, who left the Senate in 2013 after four terms. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who has spoken to Lieberman about the job: “If the president picked Joe Lieberman he’d be doing [the] country a good service and, I think, the FBI a good service.”

Dems want a "nonpolitical" person to be FBI director. That makes no sense whatsoever when one considers just to get to a position to be considered politics have already been played. Even more so, as soon as the person accepts the position, he is by default political. Apparently, the Dems just didn't want Lieberman.
